To be honest, I don't see any problem with liking MCR, The Killers, Led Zeppelin, some of Queen's singles, Nirvana, QotSA, Kanye, Kendrick, Billie, or Ariana. The only artist I actively listen to on this list is Kanye, but its not like these artists release unlistenable music. Most of these artists have released songs and albums that have gone on to influence some of the artists I'm sure you really enjoy, and literally every single one of them has some cultural significance.

Music that Reddit likes does not inherently mean its bad, and if any of these artists were not mainstream and you found them, you would probably consider them hidden gems.

If this is a qenuine complaint I don't see the point of it. If you want to discuss some obscure progressive neurofunk field recordings you are bound to find someone interested in that here.

Which isn't a bad thing at all. The Yea Forumscore chart is meant for people who are just starting to listen to music, "seriously." I would feel much safer recommending someone who is only just now starting to listen to full albums to listen to Pink Floyd's Animals or ITAOTS rather than something even slightly weird like Godspeed, Death Grips, or even Red House Painters. There's literally nothing wrong with listening to something that's popular. It became popular for a reason and could potentially lead you into a deeper appreciation for music.
