Earthquakes devices released a fuzz the other day in collaboration with Sunn. Anyone managed to get one? They're ridiculously over priced on Reverb.

Pic related. It's a fuzz pedal I bought a while back. Good for those doomy riffs

What you really look like before the hormone therapy.

Herea a (you). Keep samefagging to yourself.

Alright /gg/, which Bandori has the best setup?

Attached: BanG Dream rig rundown.jpg (4000x3232, 2.74M)

all tryhard

igore it and buy the acapulco gold instead dont be a GAS whore, goy

Attached: brands.jpg (1366x768, 333K)

I win.

Yui's guitar cost 29000 yen. It was not a genuine Gibson. It was a knock off, because Japan doesn't give a shit.

i want this thing so fucking bad but they're out of production and apparently there are only TWO of these on sale on the web and they're both BLACK which isn't nearly as sexy as this white boy

Attached: rbxa2.png (1037x394, 268K)

looks like shit

I wouldn't mind having one of the guitar versions myself.

Wife material:
Seta Kaoru

Good taste, would bang:
Moca, Tae

Tryhard faggots:
Sayo, Kasumi, Ran, Rokka, Yuri, Hina

Bassist, would not bang:
Rimi, Lisa, Chisato, Hagumi, Himari, Layer, Rii

Attached: ES-335.png (1334x1002, 200K)

sayo stands out in being such a weenie that she owns two identical guitars, probably for when she gets confused while changing strings on the floyd

also lmao @ all the JCM900s, no wonder anime guitarists have bad tone

Hmm, not really liking the tone from that pedal. But thanks for the suggestion anyway. was hoping someone tried it though.

Just get the boss hyper fuzz

really want to learn how to play guitar, couple of questions.
Should i go for lessons? if so where?
What type guitar should i buy?
I have experience in playing piano pretty casually and self taught, and im not sure if i should go for an acoustic or electric. somone help me out?

Seems like a cool pedal. I'm planning on selling my fuzz factory to fund a new fuzz since it's a beast to tame sometimes.

>damn, that .gif makes me look like a badass
>i sure showed those nerds
>Yea Forums.org

Take three lessons and teach yourself the rest unless you're incapable of self motivation, only go back for occasional lessons with a competent, accomplished guitarist
You should buy a guitar that costs at least $500 and isn't made in indonesia or china so you don't get stuck with a piece of shit
It doesn't matter which one you learn on, but always buy used because you won't know what you really like until a few months later and then you'll want to sell everything

Attached: nerd-464221.jpg (495x375, 52K)

should i buy the guitar first?
as well as should i just head to my local music store to ask for lessons?

Buy the guitar first, and then buy the amp by trying it out with the guitar you just bought.

>taking random lessons

search for someone who's actually good who can teach you something, don't risk possibly taking lessons from a self taught rocker who can only play thrash metal covers

>So dude what kind of songs do you like to play
>uh, oasis?
>Slayer it is

if im looking for used should am i looking at something like craigslist or facebook? or do music shops have used
sounds good brother

Reverb

is there a way to get reverb to deliver to the post office instead of my house
dont wanna get fucked by package thieves while i'm at work

Here's your new guitar

reverb.com/item/24401109-2016-gibson-les-paul-special-plus-humbucker-edition-cherry-bound-neck-excellent

>one piece body

Buy it user.

i just checked out a bunch of stuff but its all like 500$+ ??

Well if you are that poor, get a job, or get a schecter

Just don't forget that only a gibson is good enough

>he's too busy dilating to get a job and buy a Gibson

Attached: laughingtakagi39.gif (336x500, 338K)

Fuck off Ran

The Chisato bitch for sure. Classy rig.

just call him R~ for short

Get a G&L. Their Tribute series guitars are solid and affordable.

Only Ran is good enough, obviously.

Don't listen to this loser, get something with 24 frets or you'll regret it.

You don't need 24 frets.
>b-but I need it to play this one song like it is on the album
Only faggots play the same song/solo the same way twice.

Maybe you don't even need 20, most people only need 12. But you don't lose anything by having 24.
>gimping your guitar for no reason
No, you can't tell the difference between the neck pickup tones either.

just hesitant to blow a bunch of money on something im brand new too yenno
g&l is more what i was thinking should i go with that?

if you don't fret with your thumb there is no reason for you not to play an eight string

you weren't taking advantage of the narrower neck of a six string in the first place, might as well have more bass notes

:^)

Attached: 20190624_130852.jpg (1586x980, 1.24M)

>No, you can't tell the difference between the neck pickup tones either.
I can, easily. I'm sorry God gave you shitty ears.

Attached: 1533352873717.jpg (501x395, 51K)

>there is no reason for you not to play an eight string
There is: it is two too many strings.

>tube overdrive

What's the point? Doesn't your amp already have tube overdrive built into it? Are you playing a 1950s fender champ?

But you can. 24 fret necks sound better.

youtube.com/watch?v=9kqNqLQsTCI

I set my amp to one sound, and the pedal to another.

>he can't handle the extra strings

ask me how i know you're white and listen to black metal with way too much treble

Attached: Tosin-Abasi-by-Ivan-Chopik1.jpg (369x562, 97K)

22 sounds better there.

If you're thinking about getting a G&L, definitely give them a try. I like mine a lot considering what I paid for it.

And don't listen to this idiot

Only the Gibson does

You're thinking too boomer.

Listen to this guy: Get a PRS. They make the best guitars at every price point.

It's certainly the only one that's good enough, as expected.

>tfw you hear that genuine Gibson™ Les Paul Standard tone coming from your amp for the first time

Attached: h4XXzb2.jpg (1920x1080, 129K)

That's because it's a Gibson. Fret count has less to do with tone than just having a good guitar.

But the best guitars at every price point often have 24 frets.

Attached: 251275-1510058254552.jpg (680x680, 22K)

Really like the natural wood look of this and there's one on Reverb with a set of dimarzio's and an upgraded floyd.

Attached: charveldk24okoume.jpg (1180x836, 1016K)

ded

Pro-tip: 24 fret guitars are for wannabe meal/shred babbys who want to play fast but aren't skilled enough to manipulate the whammy bar or the jerk the string up and nail that high E or B when the run calls for it.
>literally training wheels for plebes who can't play for shit
You can spot the tryhards every time: their guitar has two extra frets that they wouldn't need if they could actually play.

Attached: a62.png (800x778, 317K)

What if you want to hit the high E without a bend effect

What if the song calls for a high E in rapid sequence with other notes

What if you want your neck pickup to be less muddy

Ask me how I know you're a brown tryhard

24 fret guitars are popular, therefore they are bad. I only like electric blues by the way. I liked it AFTER it was cool, plebs. You're all tryhards for liking popular things.

*ahem*

Learn to play. That's the answer.

Attached: 1501128995853.jpg (124x121, 3K)

Haha, ebin trole.

Steve Vai actually knows how to play guitar, actually has sex with women, and actually has money. He has 24 frets. You just post pictures of frogs on an anime forum, are a 20+ year old virgin if you didn't lose it to a fat prostitute, and live with your parents. You say 24 fret guitars are for tryhards because you're jelly.

If trying hard gets you more money, more women, and out of your mom's basement then not being a tryhard is fucking pathetic.

>Steve Vai
lmao literally who?

If you play anything but classic rock and blues on a classic american made guitar you are an NPC.

>Run program: be special
>look, i am futuristic
>my guitar has more frets
>my gutiar has more coils
>i am better
>run program: first pentatonic box shred

People with souls play with soul. People without souls play metal and jazz fusion. If it was good enough for the people who invented electric guitar, it's good enough for me. Shredder shit was good enough for a bunch of losers who did drugs and lived in vans.

Attached: 1497057332348.jpg (1920x1200, 171K)

>Not having 27 frets
Stay pleb, pleb.

Correct.

>he's been playing for more than two years and still can't write an original song
>he's been playing for more than one year and can still only play covers of other peoples songs
>he's been playing for over two years and still can't figure out how to play a song by ear
>he posts videos of himself playing guitar on YouTube
>he's over 22 years old and still isn't in a band playing original music
>he plays covers at the local open mic night or at a local bar
>he's been playing for over two years and his main electric costs less than $700
>he's been playing for over four years and his main acoustic costs less than $1500
>he spends his time ogling gear instead of practicing & playing

There's more but if any of the above describes you then you need to move on to a more suitable hobby like playing videogames or something similar. You're doing a disservice to the instrument and music in general by insisting on engaging in a pursuit you don't have the emotional or intellectual capacity for.

Attached: 1537318713069.jpg (104x125, 2K)

look at all that useless range

imagine how much more popular piano players would be if they stopped showing off like a bunch of tryhards and made some actual good music with normal notes. this is why guitarists get laid and pianists don't.

also if you play guitar and aren't playing gigs with a band and getting laid you are fucking worthless. quit music.

>Fun fact #2: most classically trained pianists rarely play more than 44 out of those 61 keys.

>Fun fact #3: most current MIDI controllers now come with less than 44 keys, instead they come with 37 because that's all most aspiring songwriters require to write songs with nowadays!

The more you know!

performing artists are all retards. get a real career. playing music is a hobby. record it and sell it on the side at the most.

rock stars by merit aren't real, the recording industry execs (who make even more money) just pick a guy at random and market the fuck out of him. if you learn to produce music you have more money making potential than someone who merely plays it. most "stars" don't even write their own songs and they definitely don't record them. behind every great act and rich faggot is a smart act and an even richer faggot.

I want to compose some jazz-inspired indie rock. The only bands I know that do something like that are Morphine and Karate, but I don't really like how they sound.

Any ideas? I'm thinking that getting some very jazzy drumming is fundamental in this, the rest could be kinda secondary.

maybe gibson should try to move into the lgbt market

Small time pros carry a head around and use cabs at the venue, and sometimes use what the guys they're opening for are using or just set their own amps on top and swap the speaker cables around.

That's why they do dumb shit like make amps without a speaker pre-attached, in case you were wondering what the point is.

Mexican Fender

i know a tranny who plays an MIM tele

he says it's nice because it's stylish, girly, and only costed $500 so he had money left over for estrogen

also that tranny is me

try again

Heads also cost less than combos so you can buy one cab, usually a 2x12 with multiple wiring options, and then save money if you're a recording artist and want multiple amps

I just bring my Akai MPC X to the recording session like Mayer

As a shitty guitarist with two weeks of experience and no desire to play anything but power chords, why would I buy a guitar worth more than $700?

Surely my epiphone is good enough. Only real talents play real gibsons.

Attached: tAVlk8L.jpg (1600x900, 90K)

If you want to work in the disposable pop industry that's the ticket, yes. The best part is you keep working because they need to churn that shit out, there aren't any residuals for songs people forget about in two months!

The SE in PRS SE stands for "student edition". That should tell you all you need to know about guitar price brackets.

Is there something like reverb.com, but European? I'm looking for some pedals that aren't usually sold in Europe (mostly Electro Faustus and Dwarfcraft), but the fucking postage alone is like $50 from USA, and that's not counting the VAT and fees...

>Only real talents play real gibsons

Most people who post in /gg/ don't really care about music. It's pretty easy to tell by the kind of discussion people get riled up about.

yeah imagine arguing over fret counts
have you ever seen an accomplished musician give a shit about that and start flinging shit like they have the holy number of frets?
no.
have you ever seen an accomplished musician like anime shit?
no.

I've never seen an accomplished musician who wasn't paid off endorse new-production gibsons either.

I win.

The riffing on Altars has more soul than all of the collective years of your playing, dweeb

That's actually some pretty fucking good gear except for the JCM900s, that autistic star thing, and those two green retards guitars (figures they're related)

kek

i went up till just before my level 2 certificate exam. when to an actual music shop (that used conservatory standard teachers) it wasnt cheap but i overtook my friends on ability in about 1 year. theyve never caught up through self learning and they all bad habits & have shit technique. i would get lessons just to learn proper technique and smash out bad habits early. do it if not a poorfag

Late 2000s and early 10s were such cancer, holy shit

What was the curriculum like? Many classical pieces?

something makesme think its part of ESP company shilling. notable absence ibanez, ESP the company hates Ibanez. Its pretty ovbious bullshit marketing. i like & have owned both guitars types btw.

everyone hates ibanez

i bet you aren't chad enough to pre-bend to the high E and have to fret it like a pussy

If you google "24 frets tryhard" the only result that contains all those words in the right context is /gg/.

>why be a kin/gg/.. when you can be a /gg/od?

Attached: 4520343-happy-laughing-young-man-with-a-guitar-against-white-background-Stock-Photo.jpg (870x1300, 154K)

i'm saying /gg/ is the only place on the internet where people are this autistic

and it's mostly one guy, maybe two, and i'm pretty sure they take both sides in the argument out of boredom/autism

mixed. plus i have used 4 different teachers over the years. beginner (qualified teacher), then blues/country (for songwriting & advanced fingerpicking - also qualified teacher) , then one to learn shred/lead (he could play satriani, vai & van halen licks flawlessly), and lastly a really old dude who taught me slide technique. the last dude was really old guy who i approached after watching his blues gig . he initially declined but kept my phone number & then months later changed his mind. a six pack of beer to his place was payment. he was a pretty cool old guy in his late 60s

It’s okay it’s irony. Seriously though, what’s the best way to learn all these chord voicings? I have the theoretical knowledge and everything except the knowledge of chord voicings on the neck of the guitar.

Tape delays, like the CopiCat? That kind of thing? Or old school strobe tuners. The only thing I ever remember seeing on top of an amp was cigarettes and lighters, lines of coke/speed, and picks. Maybe a slide, or capo.

I just measured the action on my high and its 3 mm, should I lower it? I've been playing like this for over a year

without memeing about poorfags or brands and whatever
is it probably a bad idea to start with an expensive used guitar? I can’t help but feel that it is and in real life nobody does that and I just get memed

how much difference is really between a squier and high end fender? Any shit that I will care about at all in my first year or two? Everyone seems to have problems with the trems just falling off and being shit but it can’t be that bad to a noob.

I keep looking at a used american pro thinking it’s a great deal because it’s 1000 instead of 1400 but at the end of the day it’s still fucking 1000 when I have never touched a string in my life

lmao can't take you reddit spacers seriously at all

i assume you're looking at a strat? just buy a MIM (made in mexico) strat and you'll be fine for years.

Getting in touch with your feminine side is a good thing

just get a used korean schecter for like 300 bucks. you know the koreans make good stuff

I made that pic implying they use whatever stock cab those come with

No.
But you should be a student classical guitar.

right now I just think oh a strat looks cool, everyone tells me they’re versatile, I see them a lot and that’s why I just figure that an expensive strat will be 100% fine

What are yours?

kek all i need is a guitar cable wtf is your problem

There was a guitar for sale on Craigslist that I really wanted to buy for 650. It was up for a few weeks, but I was just a little too late and someone else got it. Seller told me it's the local guitar company. The instrument needs some work, including a new pick guard and a good polish and setup. I think they're planning on selling it for about 1k. Would it be unreasonable for me to call the guitar company and offer 700 as is? Its an old Taylor from the first California workshop and it's supposed to sounds great.

Dont forget the KAKA you use on your cable tips. After a long session of stuffing kaka in your dads decomposing asshole its impossible to not get some kaka under your fingernails.

It's got one out two humbuckers for the best pickup config

It has more versatility than my squier

Get the fuck out of my /gg/.

Why not just a plexi? Is my first thought

Yeah, reverb.com. People use it to sell stuff in Europe, too.

Best modern brand bass to compliment my ibanez prestige for my solo metal recordings? No boomer shit

You might discover that a Les Paul is your One True Guitar after playing for a few months. Or just replace 'Les Paul' with anything that isn't a strat.

Because I don't want a plexi and it doesn't sound like a plexi.

wow.
hahahaha
and thats why i love the general
fully blown imbecile advice always on offer

You'll need some strings to play it.

dont forget to also dip your guitar in oil

No need, I constantly exude a thick layer from my pores.

Ah, student gauges

True, they're like modded Marshalls, but a Dirty Shirley Mini sounds nothing like a plexi. It's more like a JTM45 with contemporary levels of gain and a really aggressive attack. Apparently it's a modified JCM800 preamp hooked up to a JTM45 power amp, with the latter changed to a silicon rectifier EL84 design in the Mini version. All of which is why it doesn't sound like a plexi.

What would be a good electric guitar for someone who wants to play Metallica, Megadeth, Alice in Chains, Pearl jam etc.? I've been playing acoustic for 6 months but I really want an electric guitar that looks cool and sounds good, I wouldn't mind my budget being around €700 for one that would last me a while

Those default pickups on Squiers are nonadjustable (forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?t=6256). I'd love you to prove me wrong tho. I wanna adjust it too.

Any specific type of esp?

What's everyone's favorite hollow-body guitar? I'm looking for one that sounds cool as fuck through an amp, but also sounds fairly decent unplugged. I think the Godin 5th Avenues look pretty cool.

Dean Palomino

> Metallica, Alice in Chains, Pearl jam
favor les paul type guitars so prolly an eclipse by ltd

A lot of squiers are unironically nicer to play than American fenders. Constant neck radius, satin finish on the neck, lighter bodies(!). Honestly just swap the nut, tuners, and electronics and do a fret level if needed and the only problem will be neck instability (buzz one day none the next).

The next step up are those schecter student-grade guitars. Same deal with the satin finish but a little nicer and the necks are three piece, a feature copped from $3000 ESPs because it's cheaper when not used in a neck-thru guitar, so they don't move as much.

For some reason when you get into high end guitars ever neck is glossy, sometimes actually sticky (nitro finishes), but nothing else improves except for the pickups, tuners, and frets. Sometimes the body wood even gets worse.

If you had a guitar with pic related as the only damage, would you drop it down to "great"?

Attached: IMG_0031.jpg (6000x4000, 1.76M)

it’s clearly a different standards thing because I’d put that at good

just sell it as reliced

Thanks, I'll check it out

you think more money doesn't get you that much more guitar
but the reality is you're beginning to realize that established american brands like fender and gibson think they can get away with more shit because of the name they put on the headstock

Lol hell no. I'd drop it down to 'just fine'. That shit's gonna erode over time unless taken to a professional. In what world is a smashed finish like this "great"?

If I were you I'd just list it for 1000 and see what happens.

how do people even abuse their guitars like this

It's funny how guitarists can't seem to understand that quality of electric instruments are determined almost exclusively by the electronics that go into them. All other musicians understand this perfectly well.

>squiers are unironically nicer to play than American fenders.

Attached: 7771948.jpg (345x336, 214K)

Gigs, jam sessions, band practice.

If you want a pristine instrument all your life you should be a solo/recording act. a lot of touring artists have started keeping their prized vintage instruments that aren't made that way with that wood anymore in vaults for recording use only.

others tour with them, like this guy, because they're beat up anyways.

electric and bass are for fucking new world fags
this was a post by #acousticgang

LGTSS. IMO I think how a guitar feels is more important than how it sounds. If it isn't comfortable to hold and play, you're unmotivated to play it. You can change pickups, hardware, etc to get a good sound but a guitar's feel is set in stone.

Take shit like a LP. It's unbalanced, heavy, clunky as fuck. Basically can't play it sitting down. Even if it's the best sounding guitar in the world, it feels like shit to play.

The quality of an electric instrument, then, is not the electronics. You could take an Epiphone Special 2 and set it up with Gibson standard tuners, bridge, pickups, and it'll still be shit.

This.

t. nylon

The bridge, nut, and tuners affect your tone 100x more than wood and are also the primary things affecting tuning stability and string breakage.
Wood affects tuning stability if it was not aged properly and overreacts to changes in temperature and humidity. Yes, even the body wood, because that's what the neck is attached to.
Finish, neck profile, headstock angle and volute or lack thereof, and body shape affect basic playability.

You get what you pay for but the costs increase faster than the quality.

>brought to you by underage memes

it takes time to make a neck with level frets

good, hard alloys are more expensive than cheap ones that wear down faster

Almost no guitar will be set up properly straight out of the box/bag/case. And I'd almost be impressed if you could find a guitar, these days, of poor enough quality to the point of frets popping out. You don't even have to spend 300 bucks to assure that won't happen. Hell, you can get a squier affinity tele for like 150 bucks and any issue I've heard of people having with those can be solved with a soldering iron.

This guy is selling this decent looking guitar for a good bit of money

reverb.com/item/7002746-esp-e-ii-m-ii-2014-acsb-amber-cherry-sunburst-extra-pickups-hsc-ltd-eii-mii-e2-m2

What's his deal?

I'd still be nervous as fuck touring with a guitar like that. Not just for the monetary value, but a guitar played and owned by Peter Green AND Gary Moore?

I know what I've got.

No you don't that's a faggot guitar

no guitar will be set up out of the box

but not every guitar will hold its setup if the humidity in your house goes up or down by 5%. i had a few MIMs like that. they HAD to be kept in cases. period.

And /gg/ is a foul smelling den of contrarian, insecure spergs where everything that isn't a strat, tele, or les paul is for tryhard faggots because your lack of empathy prevents you from understanding that a normal person who doesn't nerd out over the differences between seymour duncans and bare knuckles thinks all electric guitars look and sound the same, and therefore no matter what you show up, even if it's a vintage telecaster, with it's your tried-so-hard-and-fucked-up-so-much playing that will make you look like a faggot.

My last girlfriend thought an ibanez was a telecaster.

>IMO I think how a guitar feels is more important than how it sounds.

I agree wholeheartedly but it's not as if most guitars aren't near clones of more famous guitars. It's easy to find something fun to play in almost any price range.

Replacing bridge and nut with your choice of material costs like 20 bucks, maximum. Tuning a guitar takes me like 1 minute. To be honest with you I don't think 99% of people who post in /gg/ would be able to tell which is a squier in the 200-300 bucks price range and which is a MIA Fender Telecaster if played through the same amp.

Yeah well, your guitar is shit, I hope you eat kaka and die

>tuning a guitar takes 1 minute

1 minute is 1/4 of a song sometimes

and shit guitars will go out of tune in the middle of a song

Bridge $50
Nut $5
String trees $5
Tuners $50
Fret job $100
Learning to play with a higher action: Free
Not having to get a full time job just to play a half-decent guitar: Priceless

Nothing like living with your parents. You have more time to play.

>and shit guitars will go out of tune in the middle of a song

A shit guitar, yes. A cheap guitar is not a shit guitar. That 900-3000 USD price hike is 95% due to the logo on the headstock reading insertfamousguitarbrand.

>empathy
That's for faggots, that guitar is shit and you can't argue that

I don't care about that guitar, it's a generic high end instrument. No complaints about the specs so it's just aesthetic choices.

What I am noticing is that /gg/ is shit and acts like a bunch of paranoid autists
>if i don't play a gibson people will think i'm poor and bad at guitar!

Then how does famous fender sell guitars for the same and less as literally who custom shops?

he said nut lol

Rickenbacker chick

>It's a high end instrument
Spotted the Sambo

This is the age of the so called 'individual'. People aim to build an identity through the goods they purchase and the products they consume. Literal who custom shops and high end long established guitar brands cater to the same kind of people who basically want the same thing but go about it in slightly different ways. One group wants to use their instruments as status symbols, the other wants to use them as 'an expression of the self' (as if there is such a thing).

They both cater to idiots with more sense than money.

rude

Are these any good for the price?

Attached: Capture.png (1012x682, 161K)

Cope

Obviously meant to say more money than sense.

up to $2500 it's not the logo, it's the time and labor costs. making hardwood instruments right is a slooooow process.
past $2500 it's artificial scarcity (limited edition bro, act now or you'll never get one!) and even more labor costs (hand carved body brooooo!)

insertfamousguitarbrand is famous because they pay experienced employees a living wage with benefits instead of random local teenagers an allowance with none

everything between $1000 and $2500 is a variance in pay rates, employee benefits, production process and raw wood costs instead of instrument quality. for instance, gibson's factory is very inefficient with more hand work than machine supervision and they use one of the most expensive woods they can. they do this for tradition, supposedly. fender has a more streamlined process and they use domestic hardwood. fender has always focused on improving manufacturing efficiency because it was founded by an engineer, not a musician. gibsons cost more than fenders.

Employees in the Mexican Fender factory make $60 a week. Even for Mexico, they're relatively poor and might need to work a second job to support a family well.

Employees in the American factory make $15 an hour, a few hundred a week.

That is why an instrument from a first world country costs more.

my nigga

Attached: engage classical guitar nails.jpg (456x391, 33K)

but mexican tacos cost peanuts meanwhile american tacos are pretty expensive.

yeah i´m >implying american fender employees are mexican

Even with the living costs factored in the mexicans are still paid a lot less (they're happier with poverty, i guess), and meximoney is worth less than USD so paying them an equivalent wage would still be cheaper.

You don't really need more than 3 (volume/volume/tone) on a two pickup guitar, but if it bothers you, you can install concentric pots.

The price range I'm shopping at is the next step up from shitplanks - just planks. Customization is fine. But I want a guitar that exemplifies what makes electric different from my acoustic, and these metal guitars are pretty much that and fenders and classic gibbons are out.

Something you can afford that you enjoy playing. Make/model/etc does not matter when you're starting out. The only thing that matters is that you have an instrument that you don't want to put down, especially because the learning curve for guitar is so steep.
