name a more influential 60s album.
just remember that this was written in 65 and recorded in 66, well before zappa and the beatles ever did anything experimental.
Name a more influential 60s album
Amazing
It may have been recorded in 66, but it wasn't released until 67. Frank Zappa's Freak Out came out in 66.
Bet no one can name a better album user
the who my generation
The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, you colossal fucking retard.
I think you forget OP that the album wasen't really sold or listened to mainstream back in the 60's (and 70's for that matter). The Who, Rolling Stones and Beatles were incredibly popular and widespread and sparked a cultural revolution. Today, yes TVUV is IMO a better and more experimental album, however it wasen't really "influential" back then because it wasen't a popular album when it came out. IT didn't sell well.
That came out in 1967. The Beatles were recording Sgt. Pepper down the hall at the time.
>name a more influential 60s album.
Yeah '67 is in the 60s
I like you.
fite me
Parson Sound - Parson Sound
The Velvet Underground is the best band I never listen too
this is the based take
What a weak-ass thread!
You wanna talk TRULY influential?
The Trashmen's first album was punk 13 years before the term was coined.
Meet The Beatles. HIGHLY influential in the U.S.
Rubber Soul, which inspired...
Pet Sounds, which inspired...
Sgt.Pepper, which inspired...
everything.
Really? Dude look a love TVU but Sgt. Pepper's is easily the most influential 60s album. It's not my favorite Beatles album (Revolver and Abbey Road are) but it's just the truth.
TVU&N didn't sell enough to be have an underground influence. This album was only had it's recognition in late 70s.
Damn ignore the typos I'm a bit drunk I'm usually not that idiot
I couldn't even name a more influential, or for that matter, better, album.
It sold close to 60,000 copies in two years after release just in the US. Not terrible by any means but still not mainstream. The myth that it only sold 10k copies is getting old.
Honestly might be best answer itt, other than maybe sgt pepper. Didn’t singlehandedly birth punk, but it was definitely the biggest sonic influence imo
user, that was released in fucking 2001
It couldn't have influenced anyone beyond some swedish shepards
Really? Obscure swedish psych/noise from 69 is the most influential album of all time? Maybe for the 10 people who knew who they were.
It was reissued then, came out in 69
What people gain by pretending Beatles didn't released the most influential discography in history?
yeah i wasn't even gonna dispute it was sgt. peppers, but op only asked for a more influential album not the most influential album
