Reminder that this is the only proper finger position to play a G and if you do it any other way you're a disgusting fucking amateur that's never gonna make it.
Reminder that this is the only proper finger position to play a G and if you do it any other way you're a disgusting...
And if you play it like this then you especially need to kill yourself.
this is literally the most retarded way to play it
fuck use your thumb but this shit is stupid
good job wasting a decent get faggot
literally impossible
Why though? The first way is so much harder.
Position depends on what comes afterwards. For example this makes sense if you've just played a G7 or are going to.
The free index finger allows you to add so many different embellishments, and you're able to switch so much more naturally to a C of need be. Playing the D on the B string with your ring finger is just so redundant and unnecessarily restrictive.
That's a trash tier muddy way to voice a G Major chord.
The low B makes the root warble so badly, sounds like shit. Voices also can't move well from chord to chord when you give yourself zero room for movement.
10/10 bait. Would read again.
>not playing it this was as drop D master race
this is how they teach you play it as an amateur because you dont have to stretch your widdo ring finger
this is how experienced players do it
hate the g chord now 3bh. just sounds shit on my guitar but its probably my strings or open chords in general
>open chords in general
It’s definitely not that, open chords in general should sound excellent as there is no room for player error in pressure or position as there is with barre chords.
Open chord sounds dumb without playing the high D on the B string. Honestly the F-shape barre is probably just the way to go
G chord with an extra 5th master race
>Open strings should should good
No
Both of these are viable positions depending on the context of the music you're playing. For example, the first would allow "easier" transition from G to a G7 or if you wanted to play a fill in the key of G major. The second would be "easier" for transitioning from G to Gadd9 or a C9 to a G or a Dsus4 to a G.
Really though, any chord transition involving open chords should be easy for anyone who has played the guitar consistently for over 6 months.
>lol barre chords sound better because absolute beginners can’t do them
Cretin.
cringe
based
>70s tumor headstock
>The Chad G
>not playing whatever is natural in the chord progression
>hes so shit he cant even switch open chords with ease
>he cant use his ring or pinky to add extensions
jesus if you have been playing more than a year then you shouldnt have to think or give a shit about how you finger open chords because anyone at that point can do it in milliseconds
>Open G chords
Are you all children or something, just use a bar chord, gives out far more varied opportunities to switch to different chords...you CAN play bar chords, can't you?
>gives out far more varied opportunities to switch to different chords
No it doesn’t. If you can’t quickly switch from any open chord to any barre chord you are a mediocre guitarist.
>the correct way to play it is with your index finger straight out
fucking retard lol
>not being comfortable enough to play it both open positions so you can just instinctively play whichever is more convenient based on the song
rookie tier desu
>playing G chords
fuck off gallagher wannabe
