Colored vinyl was a fucking mistake.
Change my mind.
Colored vinyl was a fucking mistake
Why do you think that first of all?
Not a mistake, but a cash grab.
why
true but they look sick
It can be nice, but it has clearly turned into a joke at this point.
every single vinyl ever created should be black. artwork in the center of a vinyl should also be black. The sleeves too were a mistake. should not even exist. paper sleeve works fine.
record players also should be black, making them any other color is a mistake. while were at it colored cassettes were also a mistake, they should all be pitch black tone it only makes sense it's only right. also cds should always be reflective on both sites with no printing on them, printing on cds was a mistake also printing on shirts is a mistake also everything should be black also I was a mistake

it is better with a rare color than a rare edition you can barley differentiate from the rest
however the black ones are supposedly sturdier and lasts longer, not that I am 100% sure about that fact...
Black Metal by Dean Blunt did that and quite frankly it is tight as fuck
ITT: I don't want to be blind but I want to see nothing but pure black when I open my eyes
>rare color
But who gives a shit? The reason vinyl is a joke is because people pay 150 dollars for the pink edition while nobody wants the black one. Like what does it even matter, it's supposed to be about the music.
It's called aesthetics you dumb fuck up also the money is supposed to go to the artist you enjoy so they can make more music for you to enjoy. so buy their fucking colored record and shut the fuck up you INSOLENT CLOOWWWWN
if you buy physical media, of course you care about it's physical properties
Based and true, if you care only about the music then just listen to it you dumb fuck

Oh gees, here I thought you bought music to listen to it. But of course common sense doesn't apply in trip-fag land.
I can't listen to vinyl without buying vinyl you clown.
To be fair, collector's of old school music are equally ridiculous as colored vinyl fags.
Hendrix on track with white text on sleeve costs like 500 bucks, exact same pressing but with blue sleeve text costs like 2000 bucks.
Such things makes me want to throw up.
post examples of good colored vinyl
I bought the black edition.
vinyl is struggling to compete with the superior convenience of digital, so of course they do anything to add more selling-points to it i.e. aesthetical qualities
But the green looks so good
I SEE A RED DOOR AND I WANT IT PAINTED BLACK
FIRST POST BEST POST GO OFF KING
Some colored vinyl are dumb as fuck the color dont make sence with the artist but i would say than picturedisc were a bigger mistake
I like you
digital is struggling to compare with the superior audio of vinyl. That's why vinyl is still around today, and is rising in popularity.
Not because of shitty colored vinyl, but superior sound.
They have to reissue even ridiculously common albums such as The Wall, Thriller, Born in the USA and similar due to insane demand.
Reissues should replicate the original album as faithfully as possible, right down to the center labels.

The fact that people still believe vinyl has superior sound over digital boggles my mind
The answer lies in the difference between analog and digital recordings. A vinyl record is an analog recording, and CDs and DVDs are digital recordings. ... This means that, by definition, a digital recording is not capturing the complete sound wave. It is approximating it with a series of steps.
"superior sound quality" is pretty fare down on the list of reasons why people buy vinyl
