Have you ever listened to it like you are supposed to? If you have, did you do it with 4 vinyl players or with phones/computers? Please send me the download link to each disc separately, I have been looking on the internet and I can’t find anything that isn’t a mixdown of all the discs.

just buy a used copy, you cheapskate

I havent but ive thought about getting some people together with boomboxes to try it might be fun.

I don’t have a record player (and I need 4)

buy a used CD copy and rip the discs, i meant

Bump

I think trying to do it on vinyl would be very tricky, doing it on cd usually took a couple of tries, and I bet the speed variance on record players is probably even greater than cd players. With the cds, you had to restart after each song or they got too out of sync, maybe being able to use computer files fixes this problem. There are abstract sections where the synching doesn't matter as much, but generally you want them close, and things being slightly out of sync creates some unique effects as well.

It's totally worth the trouble if you are into having a unique sonic experience. You are kind of inside of the songs and this makes a huge difference. The point is to have a party and people bring their stereos so you have 4. Because of the difficult nature of listening to this I've only heard it maybe 10 times as intended. The mixdowns don't really indicate anything about the experience as it's coming out of two channels instead of 8, and it's literally impossible to mix it down properly because of too many competing sound frequencies. I also don't think the vinyl would be able to completely reproduce the crazy bass sounds on this.

that cover art is too good for this album holy shit its amazing

Specially with that Warning red line holy shit it looks so badass

IT DOES

10 times seems like a lot do you have 4 cd players? or was it a group of people every time

Back when i was finding out about the band, I found the discs in What.cd, when it was still up. But never got around playing it from 4 different sources. This remais the only record from the FLips i never listened to, because i wanna do it justice.

Im pretty sure the vinyl version is the mixed down version. who on earth would own 4 hifis?

this album sucks ass anyways

all you need is 4 cars and an empty parking lot

>please send me the download link
learn to google better and/or use the archive you absolute shithead

is Zaireeka even any good?

If you like Soft Bulletin era Flaming Lips then yes.
It's a lot more experimental and meant more for listening parties.

Riding to Work in the Year 2025 (Your Invisible Now) is fantastic.

On another note, what does Yea Forums think of The Soft Bulletin?

Great, but not their best, still great tho
8.5/10

Yeah I listened to it through 4 CD players once. One day when I was a senior in high school someone called in a bomb threat, so the whole school had to evacuate for a couple hours. I randomly started talking to this quiet artsy guy in my grade that I've never spoken to before. We started talking about music and he invited me over to his house to listen to Zaireeka. I went over there and he busted out a bunch of coke and weed, and we got really fucked up while listening to it. It was really fun and we never once hung out again

what is their best then?

For me it's either Embryonic, Clouds Taste Metallic or Telepathic Surgery, on a side note the new one is actually not that bad

those aren't bad choices

Also their demo of the song they made for The Spongebob Musical is pretty good

i think this is probably their best closely followed by yoshimi, at war with the mystics, and embryonic. that streak of albums is near perfect and it really all relies on personal taste.

niiiiice

depends on the release

the one with the Vinyl and 5.1 Tracklist is a 10/10, perfect front to back

American version is an 8/10, missing Slow Motion and the remixes at the end kinda ruin the pacing, but other than that it's still pretty good

International version is a 7/10, putting Slow Motion in the front, Buggin in the back, and the two mixes towards the end just fucks up the album, and no Spider Bite Song. But at least it has Slow Motion, which I love.

this

I have a copy but not enough record players to play it right. I've brought it up with some friends saying that I want to have a listening party with them but nothings come of it yet.

no but i imagine the part w/ the barking dogs must be amazing
