In terms of "mainstream grunge" Soundgarden are pretty good too. PJ is kinda generic rock but easy on the ears. Check out other lesser-known groups like Tad, Gruntruck, Skin Yard, Malfunkshun, Screaming Trees though, they're pretty solid

Not disagreeing there, Nirvana were by far the worst of the big grunge bands. They are still by far the best known even today though

Grunge is underappreciated due to its mainstream splash. It was a trend, so people stopped listening, and instead remembered. The vast majority of grunge is spectacular, and you're too simple to think critically regarding music.
