Post your favorite lesser-known prog rock album. It could be completely obscure shit, as long as its good obscure shit...
Arf arf
Only 2 of my friends even heard thid album before I mentioned it, even among prog fans. It's like nobody even knew it released but me and the dude who introduced me to CnC. Deff not a lesser band, but an obscure album in my groups.
The cover looks so goddamn good, gonna have to listen to this one.
It’s Zappa, so not exactly lesser-known, but it check out since it’s, well, Zappa! Great album btw.
How the fuck did I miss this if it came out less than a year ago? I feel like I’ll be pissed I missed it after listening to it.
Absolutely amazing album user, one of my personal favorites. Thanks for posting it
Haven’t heard either one of these. Thanks for the suggestions boys
does neo-prog count?
youtube.com
Anything counts user :) I haven’t listened to this one so great contribution
Catapilla - Changes is my all time favorite prog album.
Other solid stuff;
Spring - Spring
T2 - It'll all work out in Boomland
Raw Material - Time Is...
I forgot;
Änglagård - Hybris
Anekdoten - Vemod
Hybris is my second favorite prog album of all time.
thank you based swedish album poster. haven't seen anyone show boomland some appreciation and it's in my personal top 5 prog records. i really like spring as well, but i haven't listened to the other 4 albums. if they're at least as good as the two i've listened to, i know i'm gonna love them. got any more suggestions? i'd love to hear some more if you do.
Thanks!
T2 is fantastic indeed, should be very well known but somehow isn't.
If you haven't heard Hybris you are in for a treat, it's an absolutely amazing record. The other stuff I guess will be hit or miss for you. Catapilla is druggd out jazz-rock, Raw Material kinda sounds like ELP, all very different stuff.
Anyway hope you like atleast some of the stuff I posted that was new to you, cheers.
i heard some of T2's other stuff but it seemed like they peaked with Boomland, hard. but at least that one's one hell of an album. i don't think any of the other stuff will be misses but i guess only time will tell, gonna start listening to them in a bit and just go through everything. excited to hear what all of them sound like. thanks again for all the suggestions user, cheers. maybe i'll bump this thread when i go through all of them to ask for more stuff lol.
You can thank me later, OP. :o)

Not many people know about this underrated gem. In fact, I might be the first person that listened to it
Only real niggas will know
i haven’t heard any of these, thanks guys
i mean i’ll TRY to listen to these two but I don’t think I’ll like them very much:(
Its real good yeah
Not really obscure but I never see anyone talking about them here
Great album
My favorite neo prog band is IQ though
Makes want a cup of tea to be honest
Not my #1 favourite prog album, that would be the Wall, but definitely one of my favourites
holy shit fucking based
though i do prefer the live version of Kuiama

>79 minutes
no thanks
normie
This album is genuinely shit though. You can only get enjoyment from it if you're high on LSD, but apart from that it hasn't aged well at all.
Did they split after 2010?
Wouldn't call this "lesser known", but still a masterpiece
This is a fucking monster, phil collins was world class level on this
I like You the most
Open doors for the greatest album ever
>This is a fucking monster, phil collins was world class level on this
one of the most underrated prog/rock albums of all time imo, percy jones is a monster bassist as well
extremely obscure album of prog rock genre
found this at a flea market and it's pretty alright
I miss FieldsAnon
Is this obscure enough?
Based
Patrician
Renaissance its not too obscure but i never have seen people posting them so here you go
But this aint prog, its more on the jazz side
Anyway is fucking terrific
> posting the worst coheed album
Just listen to the first 4 and the afterman albums, YotBR is alright and everything else is garbage
Neck yourself
Amazing 2009 prog album with elements of jazz
This is jazz fusion, retard.
>lol I'll just call user a retard and hope nobody will figure out I don't even listen to jazz fusion nor know fuck all about anything.
I literally played jazz for years and I own that brand x album. But nice try
Does it matter really? I'm seriously holding me back so I don't nuke this with Return to Forever albums
>I literally played jazz for years and I own that brand x album. But nice try
mkay
Kevin Ayers
evening friends
i'm looking for an album that has artwork similar to a Deutsche Grammophon release at the top and the rest of the art is red, white, yellow and/or gray. i'm not really sure. i think it looks like an old movie theater or something.
Jan Dukes de Grey
best itt
Two best ITT
The Power and the Glory ftw
Actual obscure prog coming through
Gentle Giant is my favourite band of all time. Seven amazing albums in a row.
same. best prog rock band ever and it's not even close
>t. reddit
this and journey to the center of the eye are unbelievably underrated
Their best is definitely Remember the Future. That one is surely in my all time top 10.
their best is either tab in the ocean or journey to the centre of the eye, wym
id say it’s their best album in terms of the music but the one song per side is annoying when you just want to hear a specific section instead of the entire album
Was just listening to this.
has almost 3k ratings on RYM but I’ve never seen anyone mention it here. it’s ridiculously cheesy in the best way possible and it makes me very happy
Triumvirat - Spartacus
>Prog metal
Ewwww
Anathema hasn't been metal since 1995
no idea how this is so obscure. Honestly you'd think this shit would be all over Yea Forums
prog is shit
