I don't enjoy this album but King Gizzard casts such a ridiculously large net that it would be silly to like everything they make
I liked most of their 2017 albums, plus Nonagon, Quarters, and Mind Fuzz
2014-17 was their peak

this. I feel like both the 2019 albums have maybe one or two songs that are great and the rest is just forgettable. Even the 2017 albums outside of Microtonal Banana and Polygondwanaland were pretty forgettable for the most part, in my opinion.
Pretty shit for Gizzard and pretty shit compared to most thrash so far.
Poly can literally stand beside Fragile and Moving Pictures as top tier prog rock
Organ Farmer's alright but honestly these tracks sound like a parody of thrash metal. They could've gone much harder

It annoys me so much to see some of the pussy Gizz fans hate on MOTU and now Infest.
What song are you on?
Sounds pretty trash to me. The drums just sound off, as if they weren't meant for anything remotely metal. The guitar is ok, the tone is a little too thick for thrash and it doesn't quite have the speed to be competent for such a genre. I have nothing to say about the bass other than, it exists if a little inaudible at times. The vocals are one of the big parts of why these are shit. They're sung too low, and also lack the energy that's an essential component of thrash. Low pitched vocals are fine, let's take the example of Sepultura - Stronger Than Hate. Avoiding the instrumentation, which is better in actually every way, the vocals are low for thrash, while sometimes peaking up to be a little higher in areas of the song, namely the chorus, where they chant "stronger than hate." They also layer multiple voices of the lead vocalist, giving it more life and aggression, on top of it being one of the most energetic parts of the song. So low vocals are fine in thrash, (high would be better. See: 80% of thrash metal) but when you have no energy, nor do you have instrumentation that's all that good in general, it ends up like this. Boring, uninspired, and generic. Vocal style is one of the most important parts of a genre with as much energy as thrash, and that alone is enough to for these to be shit, even if the other instruments were above average

i mean it doesn't hit the same as heavier thrash in the genre, but within the context of the band, i like their heavier more distorted stuff.
while i loved murder of the universe which was heavier and sounded more medieval, this is a different vibe but just as interesting.
