I still listen to it but i stopped dressing like a nigga when i was 13

i'm 28 and i listen to it right now and i think i'll listen to it for the rest of my life

most rap is shit but there's some good rap out there and theoretically rap (or any music with words) could be really good even if most of it isn't

If you're white then that's incredibly cringe

most rap is actually good if you look past top 40 and soundcloud shit. even the top charts on bandcamp are all enjoyable.

I’m african american.

this may be news to you, but there are rappers who are white. and asian for that matter

Anyone else used to listen mostly to hip hop but now mostly listen to electronic?

If you still listen to rap you are a retard
If you had to grow out of it you are a smart retard
Most people never had to grow out of it because they didn’t fall for 4/4 drum machine beats with negro mumbling

larp

22ish but recently got back into it. what have i missed out in the past 10 years or so? was also a fan of r&b

have gotten into frank ocean, big sean, j.cole, joyner lucas, kendrick / mac miller. anything else i should check out?

Never did, though there was a brief phase where I didn't care about it at all. I still listen to it nowadays but not as much as I used to, though I'm definitely more picky nowadays.
I'm not fascinated by complicated rhyme schemes or fast flows anymore, artistic value goes way beyond that bullshit.
I don't have many favorite rappers but I guess I like earl, LUM and bladee the most. I'm 19

Actually rap grew out of itself around 2006

Yes same

i'm baller like an elf leave a guy no jumper

95 air max cause I’m a dope runner. Ballin like an athlete but got no jumper.

Late 80s/early to mid 90s rap is/was fucking great to this day. Nowadays it´s fucking a fucking joke though.

I never got into it, I always thought it was degeneracy.

Ye ye yeet dab!

>mac miller
he died

Post good shit

19 when i stopped following rap artists, ofc i still listen to rap from time to time but haven't kept up with new releases in years. Everyone i know who still listens to nu-rap are black people, autistic memesters who never grew out of high school and onions guzzlers who talk exclusively in twitterspeak

define rap

Never, rap stopped being rap in 2015.

Never had one.
Had a metal phase though... Yikes

13 or so, maybe younger.

>electronic

When I was a kid everyone made fun of rap. Then the generation behind us didn't get that and listened to it for real.

U mean black, u aren’t African

I'm 30 and I still love rap. No more than I love a bunch of other genres, mind. I've never dressed the part, though.

If listening to this on high volume isn't enjoyable for you, then you need to check your taste.

Lurk moar faggot

How old were you when you first got laid?.. Oh wait

Why do hiphopheads tend to greatly exaggerate the quality of a lot of hip hop albums? I mean, we both know damn well that hip hop is a singles genre, so don't give me that bullshit that y'all actually sit and listen through an entire album on the regular (especially considering the fact that many hip hop albums are bloated with filler to try and game streaming numbers). I don't believe it for a second.

Cartoon Network or Home Shopping Network.

Same age I grew out of joe rogan.

So you're like the Athena of this new era?

Save for a few albums I still listen to occasionally, around 14-15.

I still really like G-Funk though. By far the best era/genre of rap.
Kush and OJ is still one of my favorite albums to listen while dude weed lmao'ing. Mac Miller's KIDS and Blue Slide Park I still like. Die Antwoord has some good songs. And I don't think I'll ever stop enjoying Kanye and Kid Cudi, even though I don't listen to them often anymore.

Grew out of rap music

Grew back into rap music
And I don’t think I’m gonna grow back out of it

I'm starting to grow out of it now at 23...

but some albums I'll hold on to out of nostalgia. Primarily GKMC and TLOP

I've liked rap since I was about 8 years old, in 1995.

Rap mostly sucks now, of course, but so does most new music made within 30+ year old genres. I still like metal, punk, ska, reggae, funk, r&b, oldies, and a little bit of some other genres.

Zoomers like completely unoriginal, uninspired, bland, lame, and boring music; often only because it is new.

I still haven't grown out of rap, though. I mostly listen to the 90s golden era stuff.

Triggered white kid.

Lil Peep is awesome. Sad to all the niggers in the rap community never pay homage to him but do to xxxtension. He fucking sucked compared to Peep.

Got into it around 17 yrs old when i started using drugs and became somewhat involved in the game. As my involvement with selling grew so did my love of rap to the point it was all id listen to. Eventually, my habit caught up with me and my life spiraled out of control. In recovery, i hated the lifestyle and the fact that most of hip hop glamourized it. I found jesus at 20 and stopped smoking weed even at 21. I still drink a lot but i have it under control i guess. Cant stand any type of rap except in very very VERY small doses. I value all the opposite ideals of hip hop- honesty, hard work, integrity, honor. Its how i came out of a dark place. All genres are musix spoken through a different mentality. The mentality of hip hop/ rap is consumerism, hedonism, shamelessness, and repression of guilt/ acting "machisto"

Underrated post

Death Grips isn't exactly rap, sometimes the lyrics are rapped but often they are not

i thought i would grow out, but this year i found out about memphis devil rap and now i am really interested again

I still relisten to this album. That's about it
