Holy fuck this album is shit, how do you go from Spiral to generic Alt Rock?

Name a bigger fall from grace than NIN

Brian Wilson

I guess, but this is still pathetic, all of Trent's albums after Fragile have been midlife crisis

Ministry

Relapse and Amerikkkant were the true embarrassments, NIN has been far worse other than that, the Bush trilogy was better than anything else Trent has done at least

>the Bush trilogy was better than anything else Trent has done
absolutely false

I liked Bad Witch, seems like he's starting to improve

Pale Emperor is far better than modern NIN.

I guess it isn't bad but I doubt it'll last, he realized he is incapable of making a proper length album without any fillers, even then, the instrumental tracks leave a lot to be desired, they don't come close to The Fragile tracks.
Shit Mirror is the most generic NIN song too, it's Mr. Self Destruct, 1,000,000 all over again, complete with his over done trick of stopping the song for a moment

And Trent's vocals are awful, he absolutely lost his ability to scream, it isn't as bad as it was in Not The Actual Events, but it's still embarrassing.

Hesitation Marks is the best NIN since Fragile though
Marilyn Manson

How is Hesitation Marks the best? Really makes me curious, it's his poppiest work to date

It's a really honest album. It's a reflection on his own past mistakes and gives an insight into a guy who's just trying to keep his shit together. It's danceable but dark.

Cover is sexy as fuck though

yeah, I was stoked for this and then it was such a disappointment. apparently reznor thinks it's still the 90s and he can get away with a full album of throwaways and two decent singles, copy of a and came back haunted are the only things here worth mentioning and they're both sub par for nin. I'm pretty sure this was just an album he made on his laptop and decided to turn in because he's so huge he can get away with it now.

It's actually his best

Based.

Bad Witch was great though

It wasn't that great. It's so low on content. Its 30 minutes feel like 10 minutes instead, not in a good way. The instrumentals really drag it down.

Based

the eps and bad witch were good my man

Hesitation Marks is better. Bad Witch isn't nearly as experimental as people say, Trent has nothing to say in it.
Hesitation Marks has the best song writing since Fragile and its production is superb.

EPs are unoriginal, NTAE is Trent trying to do Broken but failing in every way. The Idea of You has some of the worst vocal delivery I've ever heard in Industrial Metal.
Add Violence is boring

imagine not being able to appreciate Hesitation Marks

People want Trent to be angery.
If you don't think Various Methods OF Escape, In Two, While I'm Still Here, Copy Of A (and more) aren't Top NIN you're a pleb

It's not even Alt Rock, this is pretty Electro-Industrial.

>he's been having a mid life crisis for the last 20 years
lmao

Sum 41

I agree

True about MM, the Triptych was great and I liked GAOG, Heaven Upside Down is probably the best since then, but nowhere close to Mechanical Animals.

I SURVIIIIIIIIIVED EVERYTHIIIIIIIIING

Your favorite band

Ministry and Manson fell harder. I mean Manson only had one great album but still, he is hard to look at these days, same with ministry. Ministry does put on a good straight up metal show atleast. Saw em couple years ago and I was surprised how hard they rocked.

By being the absolute goddamn inconsistent idiot known as Trent Reznor.

This. It’s more akin to PHM than people realize. I still feel that With Teeth is the weakest of his alt-rock style albums.
