Can someone please explain the connection between nepotism and industry plants? Why is it that children of industry professionals are "chosen" (so to say) by labels in order to plant, exactly?

have sex

they know a guy in the industry and they do a favor

They're a safe investment for the label. Signing a no-name kid from Nebraska is much riskier.

>They're a safe investment for the label.
But why exactly?

You can start on then earlier. Billie Eilish was homeschooled and explicitly groomed to live the life she is now

I love how she talked about this all the time in older interviews, but seems suspiciously quiet about it now.

doesn't her brother write her songs anyways?

because rich people have connections dipshit

He was also homeschooled and groomed for stardom. Up until a year ago he was more famous than his sister, acted in a bunch of big name tv shows

what the fuck lmao, so blatant. why are people okay with this shit happening?

But how does: connections = plant?

What makes a label sign someone with connections over someone without?

Cause who fucking cares? The industry has been like that since the 60’s/70’s.

He had bit parts on Glee and Modern Family. Hardly "famous."

rich guy "networks" with another rich guy (plays golf and cheat on their wives)
"hey sign my kid"
"ok"

networking is like 95% of what rich people do. and it's easier to get your name to the right people when you have money.

How does that not make sense to you? Someone with connections can call their friend at the record label and say sign my daughter or son. people outside the industry don't have that ability obviously. Pop stars are not made because of their inherent talent, they're just the individuals with a multimillion dollar marketing budget behind them

she is a pretty okay singer, though. i get why she gets pushed even if i loathe her

Billie's parents weren't exactly rich or famous when she was signed.

>finneas produces 'ocean eyes' and gets his sister to sing it
>shares it with some of his industry buddies who are much bigger in hollywood than he is
>'sign my sister pls'
>'okay'

reminder that if you're signed to a major label then you're not an industry plant, you're just openly a part of the industry. that phrase used to be for unsigned or indie acts who were funded by labels under the table, you guys are just talking about literal marketing which is the main thing labels do.

i don't know who this thread is about. OP asked about nepotism, so maybe he doesn't know what that word means

you don't have to be hyper successful to have connections. I literally couldn't get on the phone with someone from Interscope even through multiple steps of connections. Once you're in the industry, no matter how much, you can reach people who matter

Billie Eyelash

Doesn't Interscope charge a hefty fee before they listen to your demo? Someone mentioned it in a Shillie thread months ago but never gave details.

It's a bunch of reasons, but the main thing being that people more often choose to disbelieve when presented with the matters of fact. The rags to riches story and these tales of the road are cute and romantic ideas that a lot of people live their lives by.
You go to an underground hip-hop show and everything is plastered with corporate branding. Instead of raising red flags in people that things aren't entirely what meets the eye, people just think this shows legitimacy.

Yes. It's $1000 I believe. They don't want poor kids.

Hi Billie!

1. Parents know people in the industry and can easily convince their friends (or friends of friends) to sign their kids.

2. Industry brats are trained from a young age to be familiar with how the industry works.

They don't have to be. Labels will more easily sign kids with connections.

Does Lil Nas X have connections?

>Why is it that children of industry professionals are "chosen" (so to say) by labels
It's easy to control someone who's fathers job is on the line.

Clairo is such a fucking clump of dough

she's the sexiest woman in music, shut the fuck up incel

dude

duhhh

call c her father's playdough one more time and we will literally raid ur minecraft server

do u even realize that are team just got tripled cos her album is 2 weeks away

How come you guys write like such morons when you make threads like these? I honestly don't understand what you're even asking or how you're that dumb not to just know the answer.
None of this "industry plant" shit is relevatory. This has been going on since pop music exists, you idiots just invented a new term for it and think you're clever or that anything is different.

Have sex, gain age and experience.

nepotism is where you put your relatives into the business, no matter who they are or what they represent
industry plants is where you PLANT somebody for specific purpose. Politics, influence etc

one person is only there because they crave attention, the other was put there for a reason.

OK WTF

It's really funny how often people think I make this shit up to upset them.

Because people with parents inthe industry are much easier to work with aince their parents obviously know the industry.

>The epitome of only famous cause your dad's famous.

You know that the middle one isn't her right?

He showed insane talent at a young age that didn't subside with puberty. Nobody before or since, except maybe Bach, had his kind of workflow.

Hes not calling Wolfart that you mong, he's saying Billie and Clairo are that epitome.

rise and grind mf'ers! (laugh crying emoji)
let's compose these pieces
imagine how tight that workflow would've been if he had ableton :ooooo

nepotism =/= plants.

plants are what they believe to be jewish things and all that /pol/ thinking.
nepotism just ensures the kid's have a job and if they like it or are too lazy to develop, they will just work in the industry. be it as an artist or as someone behind the scenes scraping up the leftovers of the millions that roll around.

a plant is honestly just a carefully selected idol. a marketing team/ guy with a keen eye just thinks yo this might be great for all those teenagers. and then they try i out. doesnt work? next.
most 'famous' people dont want their kids to be the new disney face or teenage popstar because they know what fucked up place it can be - but they obviously will suport them in finding a job.
its not rocket science nor jewish conspiracies. just faggots tryna make a buck or two.

this. Mozart and Childish Gambino are plants. Clairo and Billie are just well off randos benefiting from hype

This.
