so i posted here yesterday for suggestions to add to a sad music chart and got way more than i expected, so it basically turned into "Yea Forums makes a sadboi chart"
most of these are Yea Forums recs
what's missing?

You'll be on my mind today, friend.
don't find it all that sad, user
moreso evil
doesn't have lil peep on it, just hipster trash. SAGE.
No Love Deep Web
this is already here, user lol
im looking for sad approaches to sad subject matter, not angry approaches
mount eerie - a crow looked at me
Whatabout the title track or Child Soldier.
user, i put the the artists in alphabetical order so this wouldnt happen, its already there lmao
i want a sad album front to back, not just certain tracks, though i get what youre saying
have any other suggestions?
this is a good one! added
What about the OOZ by King Krule?
This is essential sadcore
got any other essentials i didnt include?
Looking for suicide fuel. The type of music that makes you feel lower than levels that aren't meant to be experienced by the human psyche and keep you there forever, something that will give me the courage to jump off the shit scraper once and for all. Any recs for this type of feel?
Your madness fits in nicely with my own, with my own
Your lunacy fits neatly with my own
My very own

much of the earlier NIN stuff.
>something I can never have
>the fragile
>terrible lie
>right where it belongs
>love is not enough
>perfect drug (mostly the end of the song)
just from the top of my head
so since you want albums:
the fragile
julien baker - sprained ankle (and also turn out the lights, if you're happy to have more than one album by each artist)
for the smiths I reckon hatfull of hollow is sadder than the self titled personally
jeff buckley - grace (its not sad start to finish but it definitely has its moments)
how about bjork - vulnicura? the whole album is about her divorce, but I don't know if you'd pick up on that without knowing the context so I might need a second opinion on whether it's sad enough
>pinkerton
this is one of the funniest albums I ever heard
already considered it, i just dont think its sonically sad
i honestly put it on as a meme until i have something to replace it since its the "edgy" weezer album
cLOUDDEAD
Leaves Turn Inside You
Stratosphere
SFTB
Tilt
James Blake's self titled
julien baker is definitely a sadboi favourite at the moment
added tilt, cheers
i cant bring myself to add julien baker when phoebe bridgers does the style so much better
Suprising Nevermind isn't on this. I guess it's not in mu's vogue, but still.
nevermind (and ig bleach and in utero) have always been angsty and aggressive to me. sure the lyrics and subject matter can be sad, but i dont think most of the songs were approached in a super sad way ("Something In the Way" would be an exception)
I'm surprised there's no REM on here desu
o fuck
just added automatic for the people
this is a good deed, OP. i was just looking for these stuffs.
ive not even heard of half this stuff
looking forward to digging in
posting the finished 10x10 for rolling purposes either later today or tomorrow. just editing at this point
>Possibly time out of mind by bob dylan. I'd need a second opinion on this one.
>Songs ohia by the magnolia electric company
>Bone machine by tom waits
>Little by vic chesnutt
>Tonights the night by neil young
>Turn on the bright lights by interpol
>Everything I long for by Hayden
>its hard to find a friend by pedro the lion
>diary by sunny day real estate
>heartbreaker by ryan adams
>crooked fingers by crooked fingers
>closer by joy division
>skyscraper national park by hayden
>ghosts of the great highway by sun kil moon
>Songs ohia by the magnolia electric company
flip that
Shiiiit. I always mess that up. Thanks user
The Brave Little Abacus - Just Got Back From the Discomfort—We're Alright
Luciano Cilio - Dialoghi del presente
John Frusciante - Niandra LaDes + Curtains
Talk Talk - Spirit of Eden
Flotation Toy Warning - Bluffer's Guide to the Flight Deck
If the Flaming Lips went through a tough break up and then got lost at sea. The singer has this wobbly voice and a great ear for bittersweet melodies
i suggested that last thread and he didn't add it, apparently not his taste
The new David Berman album is the saddest album of the year so far.
maybe im just retarded, don't know what a sadboi is, but i think picrel fits
also :
duster - stratosphere
nmh - itaots
actually didnt see your rec last time. im over 100 albums now, though, so some albums (OOZ included) arent gonna make it because i dont think theyre in the top 100 saddest
letting you know in advance i removed this because even though the lyrics are depressing, its not all that sonically sad
probably either "fucking bliss" or "a whole fucking lifetime of this"
both by American Pleasure Club
Brand New - Science Fiction
Burial - Untrue
Grouper - Ruins
MBV - Loveless
