lol
A Lots Gonna Change is the greatest album opener of all time.
ive been out of mu for a few years, how well received was this album here?
there's plenty of people who hate it just because it's popular and made by a woman, but considering those things pretty well
>there's plenty of people who hate it just because it's popular and made by a woman
Which is funny because there's nothing here that's preachy or feminist or anything like that. If Kate Bush or Fiona Apple put out this album, that small percentage of detractors would be even smaller.
I love this album but
what albums should I be listening to if I want to listen to the real thing instead of just pastiche?
obviously The Carpenters, but what albums? Any other artists/bands? There's a bit of The Beach Boys going on in there as well, but what else?
Don't get me wrong, I think the album is 7/10, but it's important that the referenced artists is also given attention/recognition
wanna know how I can tell you haven't listened to a lot of music?
have you heard the meme "_____ that women can never understand"? well, there should also be one for men because there are some things that most men cannot get into. Usually men don't like pop by a female because they feel like they cannot relate. It would be nice if they could be more open minded, but I don't think it's necessarily sexism or anything of sorts
probably more than you, but im not going to enter in a stupid debate. Coil is my favourite band if that gives you information of some kind.
pretty much every album that comes out is a pastiche
I feel like more people are positively biased cause she's a woman.
Tagging this as medieval because of the dungeon synth intro is just cruel. I thought I was in for kino.
Why you feel that? It's so stupid

Yeah it’s amazing, I saw her live and she’s just as good as she is on the record. She sang a cover of God Only Knows acapella at one point and it felt like I was about to start astroprojecting.
I actually hear some Supertramp in there.
I loved it too. The only song I don’t like on the whole thing is Wild Time. Every other song is amazing. Definitely a Top 5 albums of 2019 for me. 8/10.
>Wild Time
how? the vocal melodies are god tier
The Carpenters, The Kinks (Sunny Afternoon especially), Joni Mitchell, and Enya.
I just feel like it doesn’t add much to the album that you didn’t already get from the first two tracks in the album. It’s not bad at all though.
Thats true honestly, its more of the same at that point
