Jahseh was essentially a clout martyr.

Everyone is claiming this was a random robbery, but it's clear what was actually happening: his killers were driven to take his life solely for the sake of clout. They wanted infamy of their own and found it in gunning down a 20-year old.

As Jah was taking his final breath, he was surrounded by kids taking video and pictures of him. Why? For clout. No one was taking his pulse, no one was calling 911, everyone was standing around with their phones out as his body was clinging to life.

The moral lesson of Jahseh's life story should be a cautionary tale of the horrors of social media and how it's fucked our society beyond belief.

Her music’s pretty good, but I feel like this and nepotism led to her fame. She’s born and raised in LA. She’s got money. She didn’t play open mics and small venues and bust her ass the way other people do. As a musician, I’m bitter. I also don’t give singers the same respect as people who play an instrument and sing. It’s harder, but if you’re gonna be making that much money, I feel like there’s no reason not to do it. Standing on stage with a microphone with tracks playing behind you just seems so fucking lazy and effortless. I also feel like there are lower standards for women in music, which disappoints me as a woman in music because it’s not that fucking hard to be on the same level as your fucking male counterparts. Play an instrument. Practice. End of story. If you’re just a singer, you know you’re getting to where you’re going by being objectified because there’s not a lot of talent there to admire.

I still think she and Denzel should collaborate more.

Her best songs are her sadder/darker ones which use edgier production. Her pop songs are her worst.

The rise of social media has shifted people away from doing things because they want to enjoy that thing but people engage in activities and behaviours because they view their life as something that needs to be broadcasted to others for validation.
