What was your biggest musical misconception?
What was your biggest musical misconception?
everything I think is correct
I didn’t know there were other bands besides the Beatles till I was about 11. I just kinda figured that was music
>ywn fuck her chocolate starman
Bowie kind of was washed up for a long time before Blackstar.
my entire life i thought that Shout by tears for fears was a depeche mode song
That it was good
i thought everything outside of nme rock sucked for a few years
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR A GUY TO COME AND TAKE ME BY THE HAND
COULD THESE SENSATIONS MAKE ME FEEL THE PLEASURES OF ANOTHER MAN
I thought the beatles were actually good.
The Next Day was solid tbqh. But yeah, little of note between that and Outside maybe.
isn't man who sold the world an old traditional song?
Used to think the swans EP was the sonic youth EP
Kind of the opposite of that pic. I used to fanboy hard over Bowie.. but after listening to a lot more music I've come to realize he was never really that amazing of a musician. I still really love him as an artist and icon etc.
Also used to shit on any female music pretty hard til I ran across a few key artists that changed my mind and now I notice a fuckton of great artists I would have skimmed right by a few years ago. Yea Forums still skips by a lot of females that would be big deals here if made by a dude but that's cool I get it.
this old hag is 41 how does she not know who bowie is?
He voluntarily went on hiatus. His body of work was still highly popular and respected during that time, and his comeback was warmly welcomed.
When I was 3-4 I had no concept of what CDs were, so when my parents put in a CD I thought the radio just happened to be playing the same artist over and over
>electronic music is soulless and boring trash
Now it’s one third of my current listening
I figured Bruce Springsteen made rockin tunes, then i listened to him and was sorely disappointed.
I mistaked Jim Morrison for Morrissey until I was like twenty
>twitter thread
FUCKING KILL YOURSELF FAGGOT GET THE FUCK OUT
which album did you listen to?
next day is a great album retard
tits or gtfo faggot
this
I thought Low was super original and one of the best albums ever.
Then I heard Another Green World and realized he just ripped off Eno.
Low is better than Another Green World though
now i mistake him for rush limbaugh
if i wanted to partithipate in twitter threads guess where i'd be hanging out dude
Didn't Eno write the entire second half of Low?
That doesn't change the fact that at the time Bowie the living person was considered washed up. When all the 60s rockstars had their lows of the 80s their peaks were still well-respected.
what the fuck happened to his face though? seriously. that's beyond just gaining weight, his looks really went to shit while he was still young. god cheeks to bleurgh
i thought steely dan was a guy. and that blondie was debbie harry
this was me with electronic music and most hip-hop
except i still think this.
I didn't realize the Beatles was a mix of the words Beat and Beetles until I was 19. I just thought of it as the Beetles but slightly misspelled.
I was a big fan of The Beatles as a kid and the first time I ever heard live music was from The Beatles Archive albums. You can barely hear them over the crowd and for a long time I thought thats what all live music sounded like.
fucking kek this is the one
lazy with his diet
>my entire life i thought that Shout by tears for fears was a depeche mode song
I thought it was a Kirk Franklin song.
I thought Elvis was kind of a joke whose only good music was The Sun Sessions until I listened to From Elvis In Memphis and was blown away. It’s basically Elvis doing a blue eyed soul record and singing the best he ever did, it’s fucking phenomenal.
Just Warszawa really, he did all the music on that one, although I think he has a co credit on another song
wait...
it isn't?
Gimme examples of the based cuntcore of which you speak
>jim Morrison
>Morrissey
>van Morrison
>Tuesdays with morrie
It is
the only thing she was wrong about was who wrote man who sold the world
