Why does this album have so much staying power? It has been over a decade since I first heard this record, and it is still my favorite album of all time. It isn't particularly interesting compositionally. It isn't groundbreaking. There is nothing obviously unique about it. Yet, alas, I cannot help but love this album. I'm not religious in any sense, but I almost feel spiritually connected to the songs on ITAOTS. It's like I am being connected to a higher power when I hear these songs.

I WANNA FUCK ANNE FRANK the album
it has great songwriting, evocative lyrics, nice performances, and very peculiar but passionate vocals. much more than most albums.
Haha! This one never stops being funny!
It's wholly unique, raw, passionate with evocative lyrics and beautiful melodies. It's ageless because it doesn't rely on anything to do with popculutre whatsoever and you can just tell it was made from a place of passion and soul
GOLDALIIIIIIINE, MY DEEEEEEAAR
WHEN YOU WERE YOUNG YOU GAVE ME CARROT POWERS!
WE WILL FOLD AND FREEEEEEEEEEZE TOGETHEER
This but unironically
This is a good way to put it, user.
It’s like a 5/10 on a good day
it is an album like no other. I'm not a particularly spiritual dude but the fact that Mangum basically wrote all this from these intense hallucinations he gets adds to the mythical quality of it
its a gud album
Lyrics and honest delivery.
>It's like I am being connected to a higher power when I hear these songs.
that's because its cover is part of Yea Forums mythology now. Every time you look through the potato you see the lack in your sense of self, the you that should be outside doing things, but remains indoors, obsessing over records. You are part of this board to such an extent that you have lost self-definition.
excellent
its ok
I truly feel sorry for those that don't feel this album on a cellular level.
n-no this cannot be true, r-r-r-right?
>potato
It's a tambourine obviously.
this but unironically
most sense I've heard all day
There wasn't the slightest hint of irony in my comment, friend.
well met

Only incels like this shitty album. FACT!!!
this but unironically
i've only ever listened to one song on it and i barely even remember the song
why is this album so acclaimed and should i bother listening to it
Those of you who unironically enjoyed this album like me... please recommend some more albums, I'm looking for some new stuff lately.
this, overrated as fuck desu
It doesn't. You'll grow out of it once you get older and realize it's a gimmick album you enjoyed when you were younger because it was different.
I used to listen to this album while I played WoW all the time. I specifically remember listening while I was questing in Thousand Needles and singing along to Ghost at the top of my lungs. Those were the days.
it's a shame that this album is memed because on avery island is exponentially better. Likewise Ferris Wheel on Fire is god tier
If you want a NMH clone try Gashcat
>I LOVE YOU JESUS CHRIST
>JESUS CHRIST I LOVE YOU
>YES I DOOOOOOO
>potato
the rest of your post is meaningless because of this
Have you ever considered that you're just as much a Yea Forums drone if you dislike an album purely because it's popular? Whether you like or dislike something, true patricians don't let other people's opinions dictate their own.
Two
One, two, three, four
Im listening to it right now.
I can't even understand him half the time, the other half he's talking about an alcoholic mother or killing someone with a spine
For me, ITAOTS is a bit more cohesive. Both are great albums anyways
Best album to sing along desu
