What's your latest favorite jazz discovery? Mine is by far Mototeru Takagi. You probably haven't heard of him, he's from JAPAN. Yeah not everyone is hip to jazz from Japan but there's a lot of it and it is quality.

Been looking for this for hours on slsk, still haven't found it

maybe the person who had it is offline. You could try putting it on your wishlist

actually idk how the wish list works really

Where can I download this?

sketches of spain

Found the book "Jazz from A to Z" by Stephen Longstreet and it's been an impressive read, especially for something you can't find any info on online. Really like his style of drawing/sketching as well.

you should listen to this album if you like samba-jazz.

I tried uploading it to zippyshare but it wouldn't work. I dont wanna use mega cause it might reveal my identity. I'll try again with zippy after I take a shower, just made a whiskey run and I'm sweating a ton. Applied for some new jobs today, hopefully they work out.

>it might reveal my identity

>rice cream insteam
fuck yeah, brotha, fuck yeah

Why do you like this dissonant noise? It sounds like two people trying out their instruments for the first time

Same desu
Sounds like a dying seagull

The only appeal I see in listening to this is to be a snob to other people.

Track 1. Song for Yoo-Ki Lee

I wonder if that person still talks to the writer.
KEK

Charlie Ishiguro & Tokyo Panchos

I genuinely adore it. I listened to all the albums I found yesterday twice already, one of them three times. The tone on the saxophone is so beautiful to me. It sounds super old and eternal like I aim enttereeeing a sacred ancient temple or out at a foggy sea on a comfy wooden ship. The percuuuuuuussion is great cause it adds a great atmosphere, some of the chime type stuff adds to the temple feeling but there is no insistent constant swinging groove chaining me to the physical realm of bodily movement so I am free to lay back in repose and float away to the sounds that feel like they were made to cure my obese heart. Makes me wish I had some fentanyl though.

The percussion is definitely top notch but the sax is just unpleasant, if it sounded intentionally creaky or squeaky I could be on board with it but it just feels amateurish

I thonnnnnnnnk you wouldn't think that if he played more notes at A fffast tempo. I think out sounds great I have seldom jearddssss recordings like it.

Like we
Here else can I hear a tone like that?? Cause I would love more recordings with this exact timbre

What do these Mototeru Takagi haters think of Kaoru Abe?

"Come back here you cowarss

Wow ppl come here aaaaaaand shut all over Mototeru Takagi and bounce, real nice board u got here got I want a saxophone I'm so sad I wanna die

what you think about it, /jazz/ ? I'm going on september 1st, 4th, 6th and 7th

too many niggers

jazz is probably not for you

racism is bad you suck

i'm into the estonian scene myself. only those with cultured palettes can appreciate those dulcet tones.

I don't know much about contemporary jazz so I don't recognise many artists, but Lee Fields is great, don't miss him. It's soul of course but still good.

what is jazz?

it;s actually jass

I see my therapist in an hour

If there anything u think I should say or ask him that might help me stop shit posting lemme know. I actually only had one drink yesterday and have a bunch leftover for tonight or whenever. Kinda hoping my pops leaves tonight so I can make some noise but he probably won't and I'll have to just listen to jazz instead. Not sure what to listen to though

ok here I go, one more bump

Listen to these two. The best Scandi jazz tracks imo!

The second one is very Coltraneish

youtube.com/watch?v=DP2AdCiCn0o

youtube.com/watch?v=FhYYlTbF5wE

remark;

Play the songs, not the albums, the albums are no good but these two teacks are.

hey thanks a bunch those are cool

you liked em? Awesome, makes me real happy

Attached: CvsD-CD011-640x654.jpg (640x654, 170K)

idk i asked myself that same question and idk
i think there was one guy who said if you have to ask you'll never know so we'll never know i guess

I got an hour and 40 minutes till NA which is an hour and a half, then I can start drinking and listening to jazz. Not sure what albums to listen to but I usually end the evening with Kaoru Abe on my earbuds when i go downstairs to sleep in the air conditioning. Gonna try to set up ableton so I can record my own 'jazz' tomorrow while my pops is at work.

Yep gonna be a good night

Meetings half over

Holy fuck NA is over and it's finally whiskey o'clock, been waiting for this all day. While I seach for a jazz album to put on it's time to listen to Wayne Shorter's solo on this mother fucker

Attached: Aja_album_cover.jpg (300x300, 20K)

listening to a lot of braxton lately. this one came out this year and it's pretty great, greg saunier and nels cline are on it which is p sick. Probably the most overtly fusion-y/jazz-rock-y album I've heard from the man

the art is ass tho

Attached: a3361280761_10.jpg (1200x1098, 115K)

nice. I've only heard like 4 Braxton albums and only 3 of them many times but I love them all. gonna have to listen to way more

which?

3 compositions of new jazz, the complete braxton, for alto, and 7 compositions which I only heard once and dont remember much

not the person who asked (im ) but if you like those you should check out The Montreux/Berlin Concerts, Town Hall 1972, and Saxophone Improvisations Series F

why thank you so much. please enjoy this silly picture which I offer in humble gratitude

Attached: 1556332293751.png (800x633, 88K)

Yep I could have let it die, yet here I am

yikes

Amy winehouses cover of the girl from Ipanema. Which isn't the worst. Not as good as the original of course, but still respectable.

listening to poncho sanchez as my entry into latin jazz

id put him on my phone but i can only find youtube videos of him but no actual megas or anything like that.

is it weird that im kind of disappointed that he's a chicano from my home state of cali and not an actual mexican
