pulitzer what exactly?

I've literally never heard of Pulitzer before this Kendrick deal, and I honestly doubt I'm the only one. It was very obviously a desperate move in trying to maintain relevancy, the same way the oscars started doing shit like removing cinematography awards from live broadcast while adding categories like "Best Popular Film" to appeal to a broader audience.
>chastises a fan on stage for singing one of his songs accurately
>has never heard of the Pulitzer prize
you've got to be pretty fucking ignorant
No, I'm just not American. If your institution isn't acknowledged on a global stage it isn't worth shit.
>No, I'm just not American
So a retard?
Call me when you get a nobel, Darky
>So a retard?
No, I just told you I'm not american.
Yeah, a retard. And probably poor too.
I wonder why people hate americans.

Okay buddy
The pullitzer prize for music has always been a bunch of shit, and half the time it's just them covering trying to fix up past neglect.
They gave Ornette Coleman his pullitzer in 2005, arguably 3 decades past when he deserved one. Same for Steve Reich who received one in 2009. At this point I can only really appreciate them trying to like give someone the award while they're still active and in their prime.
Honestly thinking that the Pullitzer prize for music is an important award is peak retard hours, and the only relevant recipient in history has been Kendrick cause it at least brough about a discussion.
Have any of you heard this year's winner? I hadn't but I'm about to.
The journalism and literature ones are. Outside of fans of modern avant-garde classical and jazz nobody pays attention to the music prize.
It's also going to continue being that way given that nobody outside those circles cares about this years winner and past winners didn't get a meaningful increase in popularity when Kendrick won.
I presume you have tickets so? I can't see evidence of a recording online.
Here's a trailer on the totally relevant video streaming platform Vimeo for anyone interested tho.

>This is what the bourgeois do in their spare time.
OI M8 WHERES DA GRIME MUSIC YEAH?? IDM?? DIDNT FINK SO
I'll be honest I said that before I checked if a recording existed but yeah no
i dunno, seems interesting I guess, haven't really kept up with modern operas
Obvious pandering to zoomers and trying to appear in touch with the culture. Why not.
>I've literally never heard of Pulitzer before this Kendrick deal,
Sad thing is, I totally believe you're not trolling.
Not the first time I've seen pulitzer prize operas with no recordings and basically no internet presence. Even other modern classical winners like John Luther Adams are really great at trying to get their recordings heard by a wider audience.
Until I was like 18 I unironically thought it was the Pullit surprise.
