The Beatles too

My dad listens to a fuck ton of really old country and black blues from the 20's and 30's, and buys best-of live compilation and documentary DVDs of artists from the 50's and 60's, Elvis/Dylan/Otis Redding and more recent stuff like RATM, Primal Scream etc, and when I watch them with him he'll sit and explain in deep detail the trends and social atmosphere at the point in time at which the artist was active, the current events, politics, developments in music and recording technology, what industry guys were doing and the timeline of their careers and a ton of really interesting shit like that, like a DEEP insight into all of it. He gets invited to festivals and likes going to see obscure techno shows just for the novelty and dancing. He likes to analyse current pop as well and explain what's good about it and why it's popular. Don't think he ever really listened to much dad rock. He's 70

my dad listens to einstürzende neubauten, boards of canada, aphex twin and other stuff from warp and ninja tune. And a lot of improv jazz.

ELO, Rush, and I gave him an acoustix Xasthur CD and he likes that too

My dad likes Rush, Sabbath, AC/DC. Anything w Chris Cornell though he legit tries to say soundgarden are not grunge.

My dad has pretty patrician tastes in dadrock I think

My dad also loves everything Chris Cornell does, but he's a big fan of most grunge.

my dad listens to mostly classic rock stuff but none more predominant than tower of power, meters, hendrix, etc

Incubus, Led Zeppelin, New Wave normie pop songs, Burn in Silence

The only one you got right was Supertramp

My dad also listens to Car Seat Headrest, Benjamin Clementine, Interpol, The National. An Bill Callahan (he has no idea of who Joanna Newsom is)

my dad listened to willie nelson and hated everything you listed

My dad likes Old Town Road. I can't tell if he's being ironic or just genuinely likes the song.

He likes Jack Johnson and Country radio

My dad unironically listens to Oasis, Led Zeppelin, The Smiths, Morrissey, Starsailor, and The Doors

Dude my dad exclusively listens to 80’s New Wave. It’s pretty sweet actually, he has a limited edition Scoundrel Days on vinyl.

Based as fuck

The doors, the animals, led zeppelin, acdc, aerosmith, and whatever else you would expect.

he also despises pink floyd post syd barrett

My dad listens to Rainbow, PFM, Yes and The Doors

Despite him teaching in a music college the beach boys are his favorite band (alongside the stone rosses but they’re actually decent)
