I like many Priest albums better than Painkiller, but I still love Painkiller and kind of consider it it's own thing, it's one of their sort of odd albums, like Turbo, just in the opposite way

I agree and Stained Class is probably my second favorite after Sad Wings Of Destiny...however, being a product of the time doesn't make something bad, nor does it make it not timeless.

Painkiller has become the favorite across the general metal board for a reason, for better or worse, and if you ask me is the album you hear the most of continued in the modern version of Priest...so clearly it resonates with a lot of people.

Basically. Painkiller is their most "generically metal" as metal is perceived today so it tends to be loved more by casual fans and younger fans.
