alex g ripoff just released an ep check it out:)
Can I get some feedback on this track I'm working on? I know my voice is kinda nasally but I can't do a lot about that
I'm working on an EP, all I have is an acoustic but I'm trying to make grunge with elements of shoegaze and post-rock, err, at least the best I can do with just that acoustic and audacity effects..

Took a few minutes to make this. That's why there's little going on. Consider this a draft. Gonna add more stuff to it.
The addition of turntablism to your already wonky music makes this more head-spinning. Your sound design is top-notch too.
Rule 34 rules.
Sounded like you had fun making it. This is going into my playlist of Yea Forumssicians. It's unlisted tho.

recs:
I listened to your song october, and I dig it a lot. Listening to your album now and it's really pleasant, gives me RHP, slowcore vibes.
You should look into soundtracking for some Indie RPGs, you have that style down to a T.
I love your voice, it's really soothing. The songs are really crafted too.
Loud and groovy. Sounds awesome man.
Great stuff, very atmospheric.
Not a bad start. I'd love to hear where you end up taking this.

Absolutely amazing. Quite the magickal ambience. If you consider this Dungeon Synth, I would say this has to be the best of the genre I've ever heard.
Asap? This track is 3 months old mang. Lol. Guitar should be little louder imo, and maybe add one of them sweet 808 basslines to make it more trap-like. Vocals are okay in this track but I prefer some of your other tracks.
Super sick, love the lyrics.

Really dig this, nice and chill. The main melody is really sticky. You've done a good job of capturing that music box sound
>tfw scared of making music because it's probably going to sound like shit
How do I get over this hurdle
just do it honestly. all the music you make for at least the first year is gonna sound like shit but just do it anyways if you enjoy it

dig the guitar, nice melody and I fuck with the tone heavy. not a huge fan of the vocals though. They're mixed quite low, and I think they need some effects. To me it sounds like you made the quiet to minimize their impact to on the track but I think if you toyed with some effects you could bring them up and make them a more prominent part of the track. The outro section is crazy, I love the plucked guitar strings, sounds great. nonetheless this was pretty fucking good, enjoyed it (:

Wut do you guys think of my newshit
just go for it man. you can't pass the hurdle lmao??? you think you can just start and be amazing at it? it practice m8, a lot of it. I only starting working on music a year and a half ago, But i've grinded hard and I'm really happy with where I'm at. A year ago I was in your shoes, and I made some absolute trash music, but that's all a part of the process and a part of improving. I'd suggest documenting what you make, over time you'll see an improvement and it will be an amazing thing to see. You can't make any decent music without making trash music first, every single musician goes through that process --- no matter what anyone tells you.
I'm for reference.
Maybe this isn't something to be worried about since I just started but I'm worried that the songs I make will sound super generic at best. Is it just a matter of avoiding common chord progressions and scales?
bup
a good melody can save even the most generic chord progression.

Don't worry so much. Especially when you're starting out, that's the most fun time in the musician's journey.
Here's something to keep in mind 90% of people who make music will never be famous or known for the music, so don't worry about that. Just make the music because you WANT to. Do it for the FUN of it..
...If someone is making music for anything else than the fun of it , they've got it all wrong.
Good luck brother.

just dropped this single from my upcoming album ANNIHILATION. let me know what you think
highly rec this. this shit is fucking awesome
really sick stuff, love the production and the vocals. makes me feel like im floating
really smooth and dizzying. love the samples and the turntables.
really atmospheric and unsettliong stuff. i dig it
Not bad, try making a song with the fastest bpm you can while still making it "listenable" . I made a song over 300bpm, it's possible!!
Have fun with it! Don't play it safe.
Don't drypost.
Me
This is good, I love the style simi. reminds me of Frank Zappa but if he was a simi instead of a top lmao.
Hey, thanks for the feedback man, I'm glad you liked it. I was a little insecure about my voice, so that's partly why I mixed it so low, but I'll take your advice and mix it better. I'm glad you liked the outro as well, it was my favorite part to record
You should always mix the vocals fairly loud ( to the front of the mix) If you're worried about the quality of the singing you should either
-Record lots of takes and splice the good parts together
-Autotune
-or both.
>a simi instead of a top
sorry but what's a simi?
It's that style of music. The way you alter through from the 1 to the 4 .
Hhh
he ruined another one.
interesting, i saw afro-pop and soul when i first googled it and it seemed like a strange comparison to me, but thank you i suppose? you mean the chords, or the beats 1&4?
soundcloud.com
If you are into chopped samples and that old MPC vibe give this guy a listen. Most of his stuff is drumless, just chops of some great soul and R&B music.

Reccs
First off, I love that album art work. Teal/pink is my favorite color scheme, and the dude sitting on the rock gives me a dope FFVII vibe (like the flashback when cloud and Tifa are sitting on that watertower thing.
Tell Me was a really good track. The beats and samples were suuuuuper fat and the whole thing had a very professional vibe to it. Persian Family was a little too trippy EDM feel for me, like I could smell the wooks through my computer speakers.
Recc'd these guys on another thread. It's well done trippy garage rock, easy to listen to.
Spacy, yet driven blend of lofi rock and electronic music. Very light production gives it a nice bedroom vibe, but remains coherent enough to be easily consumed. Hella creative desu, will be saving this one
