Impossible to choose, they're like yin and yang
always been a techno fan but I'm going on a nice 4 day house festival in england in august can't wait
Glitch
I used to be really into hypnotic techno, but now i go more towards IDM, ambient, DNB and all the crazy crossovers between those. Some good house is still good for the summer
techno ofc
Electro house
What is 2 step?
Deep house
Happy hardcore circa '94:
isn't this just jungle
Jungle? You fuckin wot mate!
youtube.com
Seriously though, that's not jungle. This is more like it - big difference I hope you'd agree:

Based.
This type of thing is usually playing in the room that has scary looking yardies in the dark corner.
EBM
you mean it was normie cringe from 1995 to 2005
same as house
Any house/techno with a soothing reese bassline
>IQ RECORDS
>ABOVE AVERAGE INTELLIGENCE
>*unga bunga bix nood noises*
Digital Mystikz era dubstep
>isn't this just jungle
Happy hardcore and jungle both evolved from breakbeat hardcore, and in 94 the split wasn't complete so they still sounded similar.
dub techno

Tech House and Microhouse
...
nope, techno definitely became the most annoying normie core at the start of 2016, i used to like it but now its just boring, at least house is not as repetitive and obnoxious
house only if its micro house or deep
techno only if its deep techno or dub techno
aka i only like minimal
Same here, although i'm slowly fading away from the techno scene as it became too popular and repetitive. Jungle variants, glitch, various types of DnB is where i get excited now. youtube.com
confirmed for underage

Quite nice I prefer jungle when it comes to british music though
Cringe
still depends which techno we are talking about

didn't that shit died for good in the noughties?
That Glastonbury set was amazing. Him and the Chemical Brothers smashed it.
john hopkins is not that bad tbf
>Happy hardcore and jungle both evolved from breakbeat hardcore, and in 94 the split wasn't complete so they still sounded similar.
True. That split fucked everything up. Jungle went too dark side and moody, and happy hardcore speeded up too much and became unlistenable for anyone but maniacs.
I went off to uni at about the same time (old bastard here), and it really was like an end of an era for both the music and a lot of friendships.
Houghton?
'kin ell, it's just an example of a classic Jungle tune, there's no need to go all stormfront on me.
Shit I almost wish I'd been to Glastonbury now (if it weren't for the dog on a string types). I love Jon Hopkins. Collected all his stuff for a while. Ulrich Schnauss was good too.
His stuff, like most electronic doesn't suit big festival stages imho.
He suits indoor venues better, where the mood can get darker if u get what i mean
>Houghton
nah lost village, but your lineup looks even better, good mix of house and techno i didn't know about it.
john is one of the good ones
HARDCORE
Both look boujie as fuk
Yeah i know, but it's my first festival in the uk and i can't go for big festivals and they are all big in the uk, house is always like that anyway but i like the music. Jeff mills just complained that techno is too middle class now, he is right even though he plays 50 euro venues. No wonder there's a gentrification of this once pleb music.
Eurodance
I'm only in East Yorkshire so I was looking at Lost Village with it being in Lincolnshire, have fun lad because it looks like a decent lineup in an interesting setting.
Careful though, there might be some Tories.
Chicago>Detroit>Berlin>>>>everywhere else
What, like to actually visit and enjoy banging music in a dark room?
It's not the 80s now son
...
both
and IDM too
actually fuck I love electronic music and knowing that I haven't even explored 5% of it keeps me living
techno is huge where I am. every white girl and her mom listens to it, yet the genre is still acting like the most elitist shit ever. house is more inviting in a sense. the people enjoy the music for what it is and not the sensation
musically I'd still say they are equal
is glitch its own genre? i think of it as a production technique but not its own genre. most canonical "glitch" releases are techno or ambient or some other genre with glitches thrown in.
no pleb, the respective genres they built.

Does anyone have any reccs for house music that sounds specifically euro-ish, like earlier daft punk, stardust and modjo?

Drum and bass is the correct answer

is there anything thats more middle class than adding a orchestra to techno
Yup i like this guy's music but he has to come down, he is spitting in the soup and he's been drinking it for years.
euro pop-trash?
Yes I am elitist.
Hardcore techno. Only early hard trance, gabber and the creepiest fuking speedcore.
