2019... I am forgotten
2019... I am forgotten
still one of s best albums
You are off the goop sir
literally it's his worst album so far
Summer 2018 was fun, sorry you couldn't be there.
this is so unfortunate of a position
>so far
stopped reading there
nah I still play this shit once a week. top 3 kanye
As it should be.
there was only 3/4 good songs off this album which are itaky, ghost town, and violent crimes (and maybe yikes) but its an overall mediocre album even though those 3 songs are 10/10s
>there
stopped reading there
Maybe, but that's the point. This album is great because it's so momentary. Just a few things Kanye had on his mind while being in such a controversial position. It wasn't meant to last. Yet it still sounds wonderful and soulful. Far from his best work, but it wasn't meant to rival it in the first place. I LOVE this album.
MAKE NO MISTAKES, GIRL I STILL LOVE YOUUU
I PUT MY HAND ON A STOVE
I feel like both Ye and KSG should have been released as a double album, although it probably would be the shortest double album ever
Disagree. They're tonally too different. They're great the way they are.
That lyric used to piss me off because it literally makes no sense. I've grown to enjoy singing it though
if almost half of the songs are 10/10s I don't think you can call the album mediocre
"If you burn it a lot, burn it hard enough, you will actually bleed. A lot of people asked me about that line: ‘Do you know what a stove is?’ Bro, if you burn it for long enough, you’re going to bleed. It gets to the point where it’s so numb that you don’t even feel it. When it bleeds, it’s so numb that you don’t even feel it. It was a whole metaphor."
Do people not know what cauterization is?
That's retarded. Why isn't the line just "I scrape my hand on a stone" or something like that?
>I scrape my hand on a stone
Holy shit. People should hire you to proofread their lyrics to make sure there's no dumb shit in there.
thx buddy
if you think graduation and wtt are better than this then you're absolutely retarded
You're delusional. Half of Graduation is forgettable, but the half that isn't is god-tier Kanye. The only replayable track on Ye is ITAKY and even that gets ruined by the beat switch.
This, my second favorite by him.
It's Kanye. Why would you expect something good?
if you think flashing lights seriously is godtier kanye then that's the problem
I would if he wasn't surrounded by retarded yes men. What we get due to that is cringe in audio form.
It is god-tier Kanye. As well as Stronger. And Good Morning. And I Wonder. Nothing on ye comes closes to any of those tracks.
kids see ghosts was just like 10000x better
hell its easily the worst album in the wyoming sessions albums
well said, user.
nutted to this post
flashing lights is a decent pop song and stronger is borderline wack
even yikes is legit better than most of graduation, ghost town and violent crimes don't even compare with anything on there
unironically based
Retards, putting your hand on a stove is referring to the idiom of don't put your hands on a hot stove. It refers usually to young children doing something obviously harmful to themselves because they don't know better.
Double retard, it's retarded because the next retarded line is "to see if I still bleed.' The point is that touching a hot stove wouldn't make you bleed, that's just RETARDED
its about feeling pain to see if you're still a real human bean
ghost town is a top 3 kanye song
Imagine your most 'emotionally honest' album being not even written by you lmao.
In 2018 West, one of the most over-rated lyricists in the history of rap music, released Ye vs The People in support of the radical right-wing racist president Donald Trump. It was certainly a great way to attract publicity. If his artistic merits were dubious, his skills at generating media attention were undeniable. At the same time he released Lift Yourself that has perhaps his best lyrics ever: Poopy-di scoop / Scoop-diddy-whoop / Whoop-di-scoop-di-poop.
The album Ye (Def Jam, 2018) wasn't even an album: at 23 minutes, it was just an EP. The songs are clumsy and goofy. The best one is Ghost Town, because it takes the melody from Shirley Ann Lee's Someday, the organ from Vanilla Fudge's Take Me For A Little While, and because of guest female vocalist Danielle Balbuena, aka 070 Shake. (The only reason that i mention this song is that, if i don't mention any song, his fans will accuse me of not having listened to the album, but i refuse to publicize any other song). West lost his inspiration, and maybe was never particularly inspired, but has always been very good at generating publicity. The more the media talk about an artist, the more likely (statistically) that enough publications talk positively about the artist. Elvis Presley, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Morrissey and countless other "stars" have used the same tactic, and countless fans are convinced of their immortal greatness. It is embarrassing that so much would be written about such insignificant music (not to mention his utterly silly lyrics portrayed as memorable poetry) while thousands of great classical, jazz, rock and hip-hop musicians barely get a few lines of discussion.
To prove that he had become one of the most ridiculous celebrities around, in 2018 West changed his name to Ye.
BASED
>radical right-wing racist president Donald Trump
literally how can anybody take this seriously?
fucking owned. whoever wrote this is a genius
i love this album.... it's maybe his most relatable album ever, at least for me.
based
I remember listening to few songs and thinking meh.
Agree
Like seriously. Trump fucking sucks, but it's not because he's a racist.
>radical right-wing racist president Donald Trump
if only
friendly reminder that violent crimes was ghostwritten
5/10 album.
You have to be a literal ape to not think he is far right on any clear political spectrum, all his policies say so.
