Grow some balls and listen to Panter a you fags
>inb4 haha Gaytera, Glamtera
>twinkle
Do I even want to know what that is?
gaytera
Math-y emo with higher pitched guitar tones that "twinkle"
Here, listen to some good music.
Goth > emo
goth is boring
not many mcr fans here eh?
why does everyone call MCR/FOB/P!ATD fake emo? I get that none of these bands self-identified as emo but it doesn't explain their popularity with emos from the 2000s
Indian Summer is great, why these magazines didn't put it on the best of 90s lists
We're talking about emo as a musical genre, not "emos" as a subculture. Paramore was also popular with emo kids, that doesn't make them emo.

Based and gothpilled.
is there a skramz/midwest-emo discord server?
there is but it's 90% /pol/tards plus one schizo spamming nonsense about Gnosticism, definitely not worth
There is another one that is not so active which I encountered here. As in, today was the first day in 3 months someone posted anything.
we should make a new one desu
youtube.com
Still the vocals queen
agreed, we need a chill server solely for /emoe/ discussion, no politics, no drama
Because emo is hardcore, and those band you listed are glorified pop punk/alternative. It was all just marketing. Compare those bands to moss icon, rites of spring, or even sunny day real estate. Nothing in common with those bands as you can tell. Sad music doesn't make it emo
I personally think that changing what is to be expected from a band being coined emo isn’t a bad thing: hardcore is as shitty of a term, as the sound it carries can go from fast as fuck political angryness to slow as molasses sci-fi bullshit.
The biggest problem for modern day emo is that one style (Camp Cope, Remo Drive, ...) is vastly more popular than all the others, whilst simultaneously being far removed from the grungy, hardcorey, or math rock like examples in the genre, soaking up the bandwith of the online channels with an endless barrage of the same bands, whilst more adventureous bands get dusted, even in this niche genre.
Also, liking Remo Drive and Pup doesn’t make you a pop punk fan. Liking Camp Cope and Modern Baseball doesn’t make you a dad rocker. All these bands share(d) a punkscene where it’s clear that a) they’re not classic punk, b) they’re not hardcore and c) they’re not folkpunk, so it’s easy to put them in the emo bin. Alternative punk might be a good name, but I can see people not liking the name, as ‘Billie Eilish’ is probably ‘alternative’ to some people.
Modern baseball is what is wrong with current “emo” that limp wrist pop punk crap doesn’t help the scene
