Distaste for hip-hop already makes him better than Christgau, Scaruffi or that dumbass Fantano. I'll give his reviews a look sometime, but these guys have the right idea. You can use critics as guides, but it is so easy to find inconsistencies in their reviewing approaches that people need to let go of the idea that they are anything more than a tool for finding other music.
