fuck this fake byzantine horeshite to be honest

Both are pretty shit to be honest.

How many dicks do you suck per hour exactly?

This. One is boring the other is just shit

I haven't listened to either album yet, but I fully believe the theory that it's a publicity stunt or an extension of the church "gimmick". As for why Krysztof would give up on touring and all that money, the argument I've seen the most against the theory being that he wouldn't, why the fuck not? Black metal isn't supposed to be about money, maybe he has the more black metal mindset and/or just isn't into playing live (as we all know, a fairly common sentiment in black metal), and then it would make sense that it's just larping. You know black metallers love to larp about a lot of other things, so why not this?

Huh, typing this post gave me a serious déjà vu for some reason.

Isn't the 'official' tl;dr that Kryzstof didn't want to release an unfinished album, but Metal Blade and a few other band members were pressuring him, so he just told them to fuck off? Then Krysiuk just took away all of the social media away from Kryzstof, besides the YT channel? The legal dispute between them at least looks real enough.

Honestly I'm not sure about the details since I don't care that much to invest into it, but regardless it could still all be orchestrated consensually. Or maybe it started off non-consensual but then whoever wasn't into it got into it because of the whole church schism larp aspect. I don't really know how it played out or how it'll play out in the future, but I believe it's at least partially arranged larping.

Also apparently his name is spelled Krzysztof, why is there a Z in there? Poles sure love their Z's.

>but I believe it's at least partially arranged larping
Seems a tad counter productive since a lot of people are shitting on Metal Blade and Krysiuk now. Though technically speaking, negative press is still press non the less.

Polish is a weird language.

>counter productive
>negative press
So is murder and church-burning, but you know...
>Polish is a weird language.
Yeah.

>So is murder and church-burning
Sure, but the scene was very different back then. Black metal is a relatively mainstream music genre these days.

True, and it's also true that even underground bands tend to be at least partially capitalistic and stagnant nowadays. Individualism may also no longer be valued in black metal nearly as much as it used to be, especially notable in the leakage of NSBM into the wider black metal scene in that it has made it a borderline echo chamber politically with the exception of some RABM, when according to just about anyone you could ask black metal shouldn't be about a sense of community or politics or other shit like that in the first place, and that has contributed to the stagnation and mainstreamification.

So bands may be less likely to break new ground, but that doesn't mean bands who do something new and then hit the mainstream, like Бaтюшкa, are necessarily going to succumb to the stagnation. They could well be trying to reignite the individualism and "anarchism" (or whatever the correct term is) that black metal arguably needs to go back to in order to remain from being diluted to a truly mainstream genre. It could be argued that signing to a huge label is proof that that's not even on their radar, but maybe they want bands and fans alike to see that going mainstream is not good.

I don't know, of course, but I could imagine that being the case and I do believe there's some reason for the "schism" happening other than a genuine disagreement.

This is a lot of romanticism and delusions to justify generic band drama consisting of one dude wanting to just fuck off and make some tunes while the others got hyped on making money and gaining status.

>They could well be trying to reignite the individualism and "anarchism" (or whatever the correct term is) that black metal arguably needs to go back to in order to remain from being diluted to a truly mainstream genre.
That would actually be pretty cool, if true, but it seems like too much of a '4D chess' play to me to be actually plausible. I think the eternities old 'we want more money' scenario is way more realistic.

Maybe, maybe even probably. Still, the stagnation and mainstreamification of black metal should stop.

I supppose you're right, I'm just being a delusional romanticist. Black metal isn't what it used to be, even if good albums do still come out and there are still some who go against the grain on things.

>Black metal isn't what it used to be
Things will always change for the better or worse. Just like today's death metal is quite different from the 80's and 90's death metal. Some bands will try and copy that old sound and feel, but it won't change the fact that things have generally changed and most of the people listening to these genres of music have also changed. Maybe in a decade or a few things will go back in cycle, but I wouldn't hold my breath on it.

Maybe you should just forget about the "scene" and focus on the music that's coming out on a purely sonic level? Who are you raving on about individualism in one post and then being all doom and bloom about the way the black metal community is heading?

True, good points. I guess I'm just a faggot clinging to retarded shit that nobody cares about anymore. It's not like black metal realistically could go back to being underground as a whole, honestly.

This is Queensryche situation all over again
