>tfw know about metallica since i was a kid
>never listen to their music until last week
>holy shit this is fucking epic'
I've now fully become a 18 year old boomer. I've listened to mop, rtl and kea and they're all fucking great.

Well good for you. MoP changed my life when I was like 15, granted I was already a pre teen boomer who liked shit like AC/DC primarily, when I heard MoP it changed my view of who Metallica was (which, in my head was something like Nickelback or some shit) and introduced me to more aggressive music that put the then popular shit I just couldn't "get" at the time like Slipknot to shame in terms of musicality.
yeah metallica rules, but only 80s metallica
Ride the Lightning > MoP >>>POWERGAP>>> AJFA > Kill 'Em All > Black Album > Hardwired > Load = Reload = Death Magnetic = St. Anger
Master of Puppets is superior to Ride The Lightning because the title track is their best song ever, Sanitarium is a better power ballad, and Orion is a better instrumental. The rest of the album tracks are fairly matched but MoP has no song as skippable as Escape.
HAHAHAHA YEAH D00D METAL ROCKS BAHAHA BANG UR HEAD DUNUNUNUNUYNYNYNYNYNYNYNYNYNYNYNUNYNYNYNUNYNUNUNU BR00TAL XXXDDDDD
lol get fucked faggot, ktulu > orion and fade to black > sanitarium
You are me from 10 years ago.
Except you have an internet connection.
now do yourself a favor and hear their best work
if youre not retarded / blinded you know it's master of puppets > ride the lightning > kill em all
but they're all fat 10/10s
everything released after is dogshit in different measures
80s Metallica is unironically incredible, each of those four albums is a 9/10 at the very least and if by some miracle their career ended there, they would forever be revered as true metal gods even by the underground.
Their bad rap comes from the Black Album (which is a good album on its own, but lacks the incredible songwriting and intensity of their 80s works), resulting mainstream megasuccess, moving even further away from their best works by releasing two bloated albums (which both had plenty of good tracks but were also stuffed with filler) and gaining a pretentious fake "alternative" image at the same time, then the Napster shit, then them putting out a repetitive ass album with corny lyrics and a distractingly awful snare drum sound, then them putting out a solid comeback album ruined by the volume being cranked WAY too fucking high in the mastering, then putting out an album with a decrepit Lou Reed rambling about some slut in 19th century Germany, then finally putting out another filler-tastic album (which admittedly ends with an absolute banger).
Just wait til you get to And Justice For All, it's their most brutal and progressive work.
Escape > Leper Messiah, song is fun and catchy as fuck.
I couldn't agree more
>Escape > Leper Messiah
leper messiah is pretty heavy desu senpai
Everything beneath god tier sucks.
Avoid this.
What an idiotic opinion. Fade To Black is such a bore and a gay song about suicide, musically good in some sections but not interesting at all and emo. And Ktulu is in no way better than Orion.
>no LuLu
>no Garage Inc
someone needs to update god-tier
>tfw you will never experience a prime metallica concert
it fucking hurts bros

Lulu is good
You have to think of it as Lou’s album more than Metallica’s which represents the culmination and end of his career. It’s a mess of a record but a pretty great and creative one at that. I’d even call stuff like Mistress Dread post rock
>and Ktulu is in no way better than Orion

Listen to this. Cliff really made his bass sound like a fucking monster. It's a real shame the bass is buried on all metallica albums except kill 'em all and the Bob Rock albums, there is some great stuff in there you just won't ever hear unless you listen to the isolated bass tracks. For example, did you have any idea Cliff actually gallops with the double bass at the end of Fade to Black? Or have you heard any of the cool licks he played in Ride the Lightning?
Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets are the only good Metallica albums.
This song is great musically, but it's very Jew-y lyrically.
this is almost correct, except KEA should be mid tier
Ktulu is objectively their best song
Had the luxury of seeing them in gothenburg a few days ago. Great energy.
MoP is their best album but AJFA has their best song
This! The most cohesive thematically AND musically. Idk why Justice tends to be overlooked. This is the superlative album.
