I rapped over the same beat as you one time but I think I deleted the file, I was gonna show you but it's gone.
No way dude, I always wanted to make soundtracks myself. I'm kind of shit at it though I don't know any music theory. I hope to be this good one day. Here's something I made:
youtube.com
I actually like the dry vocals better than the one's with heavy reverb, is that the chorus?
The mixing or that static-y sound makes it seem amateurish, but it's a lot more obvious how good you are when the wobble bass hits.
Post Punk ended with American Idiot and Blink's self titled album.
REC..... even tho you forgot to REC me...
Here's what you really need to focus on: BASS. You really really need to Learn how to boost your bass. I can help you out quite a bit if you ask, hm... not right now tho so but for now what you need to focus on is Making great bass patches. to make a beginner bass, get a defult patch in Harmor, turn the low-pass on A to 10% and 0% on B, and then turn the Sub up on both A and B, next turn on some slight distortion and then EQ the sub in the mixer up all the way.

Shut the absolute fuck up. Fuck him. And fuck you if you think he has good advice. Fuck that. He knows nothing about music.
i was trying to simulate the classic UK Garage sound with the mixing, maybe that's the thing that is "amateurish", thank u for listening to the stuff that i do. :3
Ignore him please, he tells everyone that they're music sounds amateurish, it means nothing coming from him. Your music is perfect! Your music is so perfect!

Sorry dude, I'm not being snarky I only said it because it sounds like it's mixed badly at first but it was just that static sound making it sound that way
imagine being this mentally ill
>im so fucking angryyyyyy reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
The whole point of the song is to make saying reee sound as good as possible and it went well

Leave him alone. Fuck you. You're nothing but an asshole who will go nowhere. You just shit on real musicians because you can't make anything good yourself.
There's a reason dubbi is the best Dj on the internet, banger right here.
Me. My dream is to collab with dubbi one day.
DM me brother! on soundcloud or on instagram @dj_dubbi
I don't know if you're serious or not (i'm very bad at catching sarcasm), but that's probably one of the nicest things someone has ever said about my music, thank u so much. :D
oh, i understand, there's a lot of "scratchs" in the track, specially in the second drop, but well, it was my first attempt at making Dubstep.

YUUUUUNG CHUUUUUCK
here
the composition itself is fairly nice for someone without any theory knowledge, with some okay progress throught the piece and an overall solid thematic idea, also, you got some sense of texture and mood.
but the VST you're using has pretty low quality orchestra sounds, that fit an indie pixel-art game at best (not like it sucks, i really like writing for that texture, synths and all), but for things like LOTR and stuff, you need *good* stuff, sounds that look and feel real.
Also, you need to have a better feel for when to introduce variations and textures shifts to keep the mood going and the track feeling fresh. A good way to do that is to listen (and listen real sharp, eyes closed sharp) baroque, classical, romantic, impressionist, expressionist and contemporary chamber music (i'd put an emphasis on romantic, expressionist and contemporary music, due to their influences on the modern soundtrack), also listen to movie soundtracks, a LOT, paying attention to mood shifts, variations, texture, dynamics, melodies; it may seem hard at first, but it'll sink in and pay off (with you becoming able to use that skill even in electronic music (that you must also listen carefully to!)).
And last, take your time and study music theory and make it sink in, the best way to understand and implement interesting shifts, building moments and an overall solid piece, is to know your theory, as it will help you understand how others made it in a clearer way, and will make room for you to build it by your own means, standards, and goals.
and (actually) last, don't be afraid to make.
more and more music.
Make it different, more complex, more full, switch it around for the kicks, play with as many ideas as you can, and soon you'll see the quality of your stuff improving.
you've done a good job at trying your hand at something you like, now get better at it.
keep it up!
Thanks so much for the advice man! Who's your favorite composer? Mine's Hans Zimmer.

Haha holy shit. Well in 2015 Dubbi was making that wannabe death grips music with sex samples in it, it was called faqqi I think, he's a confirmed death grips fan, I wouldn't be surprised if that's him.
>Dubbi is a Death Grips fan
Makes sense. Cringe.
i hope he hangs himself
Lmao. He had a breakdown over Jenny Death? that album wasn't even that good, were dg fans honestly that hyped?
i literally hope he kills himself tonight and we are blessed with never seeing dubbi again. i hope he dies in a car crash, or in the shower or eating food . i hope he dies soon

- I really like this. I think it'd be even more up my alley if it had drums to it, and focused more on electric guitar for rhythm rather than acoustic. Really cool!
And then I clicked on the second one. Hell yes dude! That's your style right there.
Glad to see yet another thread is being derailed by these people who don't actually like music.
I mean "i'm glad" SARCASTICALLY. I don't get the point of coming here and ruining these threads.
What could it possibly do to make you guys feel better about your shitty shitty lives.
And yes, it's clear that your lives are shitty, if they weren't you wouldn't do this to us here.
DJ Dubbi is an asshole. There's no other way to put it.
Every day. Every. Fucking. Day. He comes here and shits on all of our music.
We work hard on our craft and all he does is quickly throws a cheesy bass line over a beat.
Yet, he has the balls to tell US that our music isn't good. He has the guts to rate our music out of 10?
He can't even write a real song that isn't just a rip off of whatever thing is cool, and not done well either.
Don't let DJ Dubbi, or any of the trolls here get you down about your craft.
DJ fuckface Dubbi is just an autistic faggot who thinks shitting on peoples work is funny.
He's not trolling he's just retarded, I fucking hate him, every day he tell me my music is shitty.
I've spent half a decade perfecting my craft, and he thinks he can come along and just fuck my career up?
Fuck that.
Fuck him.
We are artists. He isn't.
Sorry for the rant.
let's calm down a bit. he's just a troll, and not a very good one at that.
