I love the surfers but their albums are always inconsistent with high highs and low lows. My favorite is definitely their debut EP though, its in my top 100

No, it's because there's genuinely not a single track on it that I dislike. But yes, The Pinnacle and Icarus are both fantastic songs.

I really love that album too. Their whole 70s discography is great but I can't ever choose which one to put on my top 40 list so I usually just throw on their self-titled.

Honestly I feel like their debut was their least impressive album from that era. Like...it's alright, but the next three albums they put out are all far better desu.
