hows the other aphrodites child albums
I should listen to sparks more
uh, Bob Drake - The Skull Mailbox (And Other Horrors)
that Gas Mask album was indeed solid, really dug the sampling of soul stuff that doesn't get syrupy or sentimental
>Heritage Ensemble - te in Music)
ehh they're ok
it's pretty obvious that they were just aping popular british psychedelic pop of that time
like - it's five o'clock is a total ripoff of procul harum's a whiter shade of pale
>I should listen to sparks more
yea you should they're a good band
is Nearly God any good? I heard Tricky's debut and I wasnt too blown away but I might give him antoher try
really consistent in the quality of their biting songwriting, that's not a common thing
Hell yeah, if you're after more Apollo Brown (the producer) I'd recommend his collabs with O.C. and Guilty Simpson
What'd you think of Haunted Gardens?
I really enjoy Nearly God but it's a lot less 'musical' than Maxinquye. I'm not sure how to describe it, but it's very dark and gritty sounding. Pre-millenium Tension and Angels With Dirty Faces are similar, I'd recommend all of them
Haunted Gardens was kinda meh to me, there's good moments like the second half of Daisies, but for most of the album the whole thing feels too cloud rap to me. In some verses it even sounds like I'm listening to Bones trying to be Eyedea
I'm curious what that rec is based on
>it even sounds like I'm listening to Bones trying to be Eyedea
That's a pretty accurate description aha
I only ever listened to it once on release, re-listening now and he references Dark Souls in one song, pretty based desu

Butch Morris - Dust to Dust
The Seven Heads of Gogmagog - The Seven Oracles of Gogmagog
Bola Sete - Ocean Memories
Yoko Ono - Fly
I really have no idea
Sandy Bull - Inventions
Soweto Kinch - The New Emancipation
>a lot of albums i haven't heard

Die Lit, 13 Strawberry Jam.
Thoughts on Westside Gunn. I thought it was pretty unique.
Rec apprec.
makes sense, silvester anfang was a standout track on the album in terms of sound. will save your chart and check out some of these albums
I'd rec you something, but you didn't respond to my post. >:^(

When I post in these threads I always think that everyone is going to roast me for my taste but that has never happened. You guys are nice :)
Bombay Bicycle Club - So Long, See You Tomorrow
Palm - Rock Island
what are you expecting to be roasted for?
>listen to one album all the way through

Annoying
Don't know enough music to give feedback :(

primal scream screamadelica

holy shit ya we do have like the exact same taste, all the shit that wasnt on my chart that i listen to a ton is on yours lmao, you should check out "died". ill check out what you rec'd
Kinda screamo for my taste but not bad
Thread is on page 9 so I'll just post pic related-- from a few years ago, you listen to similar stuff then/now? I'm just curious since I'm very intrigued lol
fucking clube da esquina man if youre not brazilian you deserve some feijoada
here
thanks I'll check them out
also haven't listened to the entire rotd, just a few artists I already knew of (JID, Earthgang, Ski Mask, Nudy..) but there was always somebody that would ruin a decent track so I just didnt bother with the rest
its probably his weakest album yet, (not counting the Hitler Wears Hermes series) definitely didnt measure up to the original FlyGod. The only 2 tracks which stood out to me first listen were the 2 produced by Madlib.
sorry for lazyfagging
You ever hear the Parable of Arable Land?
