I think Blur has an energy and a universal pop sensibility Oasis just didn't convey. Then again, I've only heard Oasis' hits, so I don't know shit, but Blur at it's best came up with some of the best alt rock ever.

Also Blur were (and are) far and away the better songwriters and musicians, this should be clear to anyone who is intimately familiar with all the work of both bands. The opinions of anyone who isn't is of little real worth, and to be honest the vast majority of Oasis fans have heard nothing of Blur but a few of their hits.
