fuck off, the quality of the game is completely independent to the soundtrack. All of these games had enough of a budget and creative force to produce the best soundtracks in video games. Them being popular or 'uncool' or whatever has nothing to do with their soundtrack.

I wouldnt personally sit down and play 8 hours of minecraft but i can distance the soundtrack from the game enough to understand how well crafted it is.

These soundtracks blow away any other game soundtracks out there and beat everything else in this thread by a wide margin in terms of the actual music. Some repeating 8 bit tune or shitty JRPG midi melody is nothing compared to the soundtracks posted.

Ocarina of Time is just an eternal boner orbit for casuals. The legion of nerds who were introduced to video games by it at a young age cannot get past it. Everything about it will be the "GOAT" until these senile boomers die. It was never the best, not even on its own console (Mario 64 blows it out of the water in every regard) and its been surpassed by hundreds of games over the last 2 decades, but even hinting that it isn't that good and its being propped up by an army of rose tinted nostalgia fags gets you lynched.

I agree with most of what you said. It is very rose-tinted.
But objectively, I'm pretty sure that OfT has influenced every third-person game and possibly everything that has come since. Mario was great, but it didn't have certain things that were revolutionary like the z targeting system, etc.

They should've reviewed the Evangelion soundtrack, rode that hype wave instead.
