That should say, "not ugly, but not especially attractive either."
Luke Johnson
Is this sort of bridge hard to intonate? How do you change the action? I'm thinking of getting this guitar but I've heard bad things about this PRS bridge here on /gg/
Don't listen to /gg/, everyone here has never played a guitar worht more than $149.99
Isaac Green
i'd take that over any gibshit loser-poo
Gabriel Ward
Were not all you sam
Grayson Diaz
frig off jcum
Levi Jenkins
the same thing as saying "imagine listening to music"
Landon Garcia
when i buy mine i'm def going for that color because of yui
>walk into store >ask to see les pauls >"Sure... what color?" >that one! >"b-but don't you want a more unique color? we've got desert burst here... check that one out" >no no no, I want the regular one... y'know the standard les paul color >"what? why?" >*blush* no reason....
Jason Scott
No its not. Cope harder loser.
Blake Hernandez
americans only have those two ways of appearing. Ugly or attractive
Gavin Reyes
What are the best strap locks? Schaller strap locks screws seem to big compared to the strap button holes and i dont wanna make the hole bigger.
Jayden Ward
Dunlop Straplok.
Christian Young
/gg/ doesn't understand PRS ToneBridges. Paul spent innumerable hours tinking and dinking on various tonemetals, tonealloys, toneceramics, etc to design that tonebridge. You need not worry about intonation or action height. Paul has already sorted it out.
Lincoln Ross
Thanks, looks like I'll go with a guitar for a while then. Outside of internet autism is there any good suggested amount to spend on a first guitar? I'm a wagie so I have money to spend if it's justifiable but still don't want to spend an unreasonable amount.
Should I be avoiding squiers and others at that price range?
Connor Johnson
for cheap route, stick with an MIA strat + marshall tube amp
If you don't mind spending the extra cash, just go ahead and get a gibson les paul supreme
Brody Howard
Used is generally the way to go if you want higher quality for less money, but it helps if you know what to look for or have a friend who is more familiar. Squier are OK but not great, you can definitely learn on one at the least which is all that matters for the first few years
Oliver Garcia
Yui plays Authentic desu, you don't need an amp when you got an Authentic Heritage Cherry sunburst Gibson Les Paul
Literally just go for a standard starter bundle. You dont even know if youll follow through. You might quit. Just depends what type of guitar you wann copy
Easton Garcia
Used market seems p bad in UK. I definitely won't quit, worst case is I just don't play as much as expected but I still want to learn. I was looking to spend £500ish on a first, I can get something around that if it's worth it or just settle for a sub £300.
Carter Green
>he's not based, redpilled and KyoAni enough to own a Gibson
>tfw you see yourself with the right gender for the first time
Elijah Young
>animefags cant learn a simple bass part by ear nothing surprising
Nathaniel Mitchell
>anime what does that have to anime i dont even
David Roberts
Trust me just get somin cheap at first. you underestimate how boring practising is and how annoying playing guutar can be at start. callouses etc. finger ache.
Jaxon Phillips
it's an anime song
Daniel Perez
Also theres really no point in getting a good guitar or amp if you dont know why youre getting it. fuckin just slow down man.
James Walker
>Genuine i´m going the DIY route thats fit more with my Yea Forums identity.
Matthew Gutierrez
from which anime?
Levi Howard
idk , im not an animefag retard
Kayden Sanchez
whcih leads to: how do you know it's an anime song?
Jack Rodriguez
it sounds like an anime song or mmo song
Julian Flores
how so?
Carson Edwards
yea i get that i'd be happy to just buy a yamaha/squier but then everyone calls me a poorfag and tells me I'll regret it lol
Joshua Torres
>huh?
Nolan Torres
Rubber washers from the hardware store. Alternately, from bottles of Grolsch if you feel like drinking bad beer.
Benjamin Scott
working makes me want to cry neeting makes me want to scream my eyes are open but it feels like a dream
They rub small doses of kaka they buy from people with cancer from Brasil. But very small doses of that kaka because otherwise they'd go bankrupt again. They can't do the 80/20 mix peacock kaka/European qt 3.14 kaka Dean and Ibanez do, so yeah very low quality
Thomas Green
first black sabbath album was recorded with a sss strat
>But very small doses of that kaka because otherwise they'd go bankrupt again. how dumb of them. if they bought it from the us they wouldnt have that problem for the flooded market.
Everyone knows us kaka is second hand kaka. US kaka is kaka secreted by kaka, and we know that's unacceptable because two kakas make a wrong according to the Hawking interpretation
Jason Clark
whats the deal with azn qts, hair bows, and fender jazz bass??
Are you Sithu Aye? I say this because of all the anime posting that goes around here, and sometimes kakaposters and anime posters come up with over autistic pseudo scientific posts.
Mason Gray
>Are you sithu aye? >I expect this behavior from retards like him
Ethan Anderson
What about him? His main guitar is a G&L Rampage.
That's one album and Iommi's tone on it is a far cry from most metal guitar tones.
Getting a guitar with single coils just means they're gonna need to jump through more hoops to get a proper metal tone. And the noise is going to be a bitch if they play loud and with a lot of gain. I'm not saying it's unheard of, it'd just be a sizeable setback.
Henry Collins
That's something Sithu Aye would say to divert attention. Hows it going, Sith?
Bentley Perez
i want to have the bass playing roots and play the bassline with the distorted guitar. has anyone did that before?
Liam Ward
amplitube sounds good through my loudspeakers
Robert White
His two G&L strats were his first guitars IIRC and hes had them with the band ever since the beginning, and played mostly those two guitars
Grayson Ward
Nice try, Sithu Aye. I will absolutely shitpost your YouTube vids
watch his rig rundown, he says those two are what he uses mostly but in your defense they aren't single coil like I thought, they are the 'rampage' model. I think he calls them strats in the rig rundown vid, so thats good enough for me.
player series is the best but not by much and at double the price
Benjamin Davis
>double They're like $150 more and twice the quality desu
David Lopez
neither consider ensembling a partcaster instead.
Justin Wilson
Unironically this
Jaxson Hill
>youtu.be/vM2IzaLQ5sU >What is that effect he is doing in the first fill? Is it pinch harmonic or normal harmonic? I can’t get it to sound like that. I’d like to learn to do that.
Natural third fret harmonic + whammy pedal 5th and 6th string on an 8 string
Jordan Perez
You should ask Sithu Aye. He shitpost around here
Isaiah Davis
You're right about the humbucker thing but he never played Les Pauls that often.
Kayden Williams
Thanks, I'll look at those then.
What pickups do I need do I need for some of the following stuff? Can I get by with single coils or not really? Is it a good idea to get a trem?
Is buying a jaguar as a first a bad idea even if it looks appealing?
a bunch of indie and surf mac demarco her's allahlas tame impala some metal and rock hendrix iron maiden van halen kiss twisted sister motley crue
Christopher Butler
amplitube makes my dead strings sound decent instaud.io/3UWV
literally everything i ever watched from jerry he was playing a les paul. youre delusional
Nathan Evans
No way he does? Hey C2, just wanted to ask why you're such a weeb faggot NEET virgin Does having 40k fellow weeb virgin fans make you feel big, does it make you feel in charge? Thank you for taking the time
Joshua Cruz
Jaguars are decent, but they're a shorter scale than other Fenders. This can be both good and bad, depending on your hand size. If you want to cover all that you'll probably want a least a humbucker, so an HSS Strat might be your best option. Jag's are usually double single coil or double hum, which is versatile as well, it just covers different sounds. Any guitar can sort of do anything, its just certain ones do things better.
humbuckers are great to sound fat and compressed but desu you can make with anything, unless you limit your options by using stupidly high output pickups or not having at least one bridge and one neck pickup. and EVEN THEN you can use your volume knob to control the output signal
you can eq your tone to improve it a bit more
neo-classical shredders use single coils, even if they're stacked to prevent noise. the guitarist from earthless, a stoner metal band, uses a strat.
IMO telecasters are also great for metal, though they are more trebly.
you will probably regret it because of GAS tricking you into buying more gear so you can sound better, but that's just your mind trying to fool you. most guitars are pretty damn versatile if you know how to use them
Austin Adams
hell, i also like Mio, so guess what? i'm going to buy a jazz bass too
Yea, that works fine honestly. As long as you don't mind the scale length of it, you'll probably like it. I know what you mean with the Strat as well, I like overall config of SSS and I only recommend HSS since it is a do all guitar basically. SSS is definitely the more pure form of Strat though.
Caleb Roberts
I didnt click i just reported
Anthony Bennett
why would you report this its on topic
Thomas Sanchez
Because you're samuel and as we all know, you have an obsession with kaka
Anthony Reyes
any reasons why I shouldn't buy this or reconsider?
You could get something quality instead, like a jap Ibanez
Jose Myers
personally not a fan of their "shawbucker", too thin to be a proper humbucker, and not trebly enough to be a classic single coil bridge. other than that, and maybe the price, i'd say go for it
Thomas Foster
Just get an american pro hss.
Dominic Ortiz
A yawn in guitar form
Luke Lewis
You're Sam, and your dad chews with his mouth wide open

Justin Cooper
>giant ugly headstock >2 string trees >6 point bridge >ugly body shape Ya you can do better mate
curious how that sounds, did you find videos of it
Mason Walker
I saw a smashed up guitar in a bin about a week ago and it gave me an idea.
I'm a beginner guitarist, but I was interested in the sound it would have if I put it all back together with epoxy n shit and got some new pickups n shit.
thanks, now i know that if i put a middle pickup on my tele i won't get Yellow Ledbetter sounds
Brayden Sanchez
I've been playing guitar on and off for slightly over a decade now. I mostly learned from a family friend and occasional lessons. I can't think of a single song I can play all the way through, I'm terrible at playing on time, I cannot write anything interesting at all, and I have bad playing habits that lead to sloppy sounds and fatigued hands after a short period of time. Should I take guitar seriously and try to overwrite 10 years of bad playing, or should I try to learn a new instrument? I just want to be able to write good music.
Yeah. Nightmare to change strings and setup on as a beginner. I wouldn't touch one til you got a couple years down and can actually make good use of it.
Liam Robinson
why write and record music when a youtuber guitarist makes better stuff just to embelish his weekly videos
Austin Garcia
holy shit all you poofters do is talk shit to each other about what kind of guitar should you jack off to. you guys are like the capeshit autists of music
I'm convinced most of you Gibson fags are actually buying Chibsons to hide the fact that you're poorfags who can't even play guitar who just want to get (You)'s on the internet. So here, have a fucking (You). You still can't play anything other than a terrible cover of smoke on the water
How do you buy a used guitar online without getting scammed? I’ve seen a couple on Facebook marketplace which seem good in pictures and they say it is but idk how I make sure that I can get my money back if it’s not as described or never arrives?
lol thanks I have no idea what I’m looking for as a good deal since I don’t own one
also to anyone else what’s the deal with aerodyne? just saw a bass for 680 mint which doesn’t seem too bad or am I wrong again?
Andrew Collins
What do they put on these things? 9s? Singlecoils sound like trash with anything smaller than 11s. Especially the muddy and nasal fender pickups.
Charles Morgan
Aerodyne is usually some limited thing that will be a hybrid of specs that aren't always traditional specs, so it'd be good to know what you like in a guitar before going for one.
Josiah Mitchell
nah not really, listen to the solo part of zeppelin' lemon song, that's a tele and we know jimmy used 9s
Jacob Gomez
im gonna record this song right after i finnish this burger youtu.be/ixs_mn32pas
also this goes for that gourmet burger discussion. THIS is what a street burger looks like
>you need thick strings to get thicker tone dude >thin strings give you such a thin wimpy tone dude >get it because string gauge = tone >more gauge = more tone please go back to whatever 2005 guitar forum you came from
Isaac Bennett
Those Fiverr bucks will afford you a lifetime of ratburgers my man. Make sure to get paid in american dollars for that sweet conversion rate.
Lucas Cox
Based, Jimi and countless other used 9s and had huge tone
You can literally hear the thin fender sound on that song. Using pedals might bring things closer together but rattling and a tin like tone are a hallmark of student gauges and below, most notably when playing cleans and this has been my experience during every visit to the guitar store because 9s, and in some lucky cases 10s, is all they string up there unless you grab a hollowbody.
I've been learning Queen lately (because of the movie, yes). You can get that Brian May sound pretty close if you angle your wah right. Switching back to classical fingerstyle for now...
Also, I almost bought a Stratocaster (one of those American Professional ones) during the holiday sale. I was in it for the looks but the sound was too thin for my taste and it has that weird neck profile. Maybe I'll get an American Original if they ever decide to add more color options to the line -- lake placid blue for me specifically. Thanks for reading my blog.
I'm jelly I broke up with the ex I attended AX for 4 years in a row with, and I had to move out this year so I didn't have any money for AX. And then two of my best friends took her with them to AX without telling me shit.
Jacob Hernandez
lol
Chase Torres
Thats funny. Theyre fucking.
Levi Cruz
Nice guitar bro. Natural finish guitars always look amazing. I want me a Jazzmaster in natural finish with a black pickguard and black pickup covers.
Sebastian Carter
>two of my best friends They're tag-teaming her.
Aaron Johnson
das mean user I wouldn't be surprised, I fucked around with one of them (the friends, not my ex) already. Guy girl, not guy guy. user Anyways back to guitars I guess lmao.
Isaac Parker
Seems you were the problem then
Ryder Sullivan
>Guy girl, not guy guy. Still tag-teaming her
Isaiah Jackson
Looks of the same quality as that single humbucker kakacaster jcum or sammy built recently. Shiny metal and parquet wood always look so cheap.
Ethan Fisher
How’s this for a first amp? I’ll only be practicing in my room and probably with headphones 50% of the time. I’m not sure if I need any bigger.
> i sincerely have no idea what im writing about but i will make a post anyways
Colton Williams
2bh my opinion is to go cheaper, especially for the headphone thing listen to the blackstar fly 3 or boss katana mini
Nathan Johnson
Younger millennials and zoomers seem to be increasingly enfeebled and weak so they don't really understand why heavier string gauges exist.
The way it should work is to play the lightest strings you can actually use, not to try and play the heaviest strings you can manage. They've got it completely back to front.
Nolan Price
just yoinked a pbass body off ebay for 90 bucks shipped, i want to put a jazz neck on and call it a day,
what are my best options for jazz necks? I've heard good things about MIghty Mite, but am i better off just buying a used legit jazz neck or doing something else?
>The way it should work is to play the lightest strings you can actually use, not to try and play the heaviest strings you can manage. what? and how does that relate to the previous paragraph?
Isaac Fisher
Anybody know any guitar-based songs using melodic minor or its modes (preferably not jazz)? That sound is sick as fuck and totally underused
Grayson Butler
Heavier strings are not about "more tone", but people think that because they don't understand what they could be for.
If you look at 60s and 70s groups half the people playing in them had been dockers, fitters and so on. If you gave them a guitar with 9s on it would be like fuse wire to them and virtually unplayable.
Even SRV played heavier string gauges for this reason, he'd switch up when he felt he needed more resistance, it was for playability reasons.
Blake Jackson
there ya go instaud.io/3V0h hard to do both things well playing and singing, gotta work on it
Juan Kelly
whenever I pick with a pick my front fingers occasionally hit the strings. It sounds fine but I feel as though that's a bad habit I should end. I have really spazzy hands so they do that finger picking too
Jeremiah Turner
work on it then
Carter Ramirez
>$18 shipping cost im jelly of you murricans i pay $50 just so it can cross the rio grande. $150 if is a whole body + neck
Owen Edwards
move
David Morales
You're honestly right. I know the problem, just avoiding the tedious I guess. Time to get to work :^)
Watching this guy's videos is the youtube equivalent of someone putting his hand in his ass and wiping it across your upper lip.
Jace Long
would rock
would not rock
Oliver Rogers
He choked on Andertons 7.25 in radius. What do you not understand?
Adam Cooper
you mean wiping kaka on his lip?
Logan Collins
Exactly I'd rather chow down on a big beefy kaka than tarnish my youtube algorithm with that cucklord's unfunny nerd wank.
Jeremiah White
youtube.com/watch?v=sdIYjyfym2Q This guy's probably the most tasteful lead player in metal and people almost never talk about him
Henry Thomas
who?
Samuel Perry
that's because taste doesnt mater in metal and he's out of place playing metal also that tone has some harsh highs also now i gotta do these indian bends
Christopher Lee
man that was good
Caleb Morris
the reason he's a metalhead is because he's stuck on that "now this thing, now that trick" instead of mixing it all together in more tasty and complex phrases.
Christopher Howard
youtube.com/watch?v=T3UV2YbAIWM That's the soft song from this album, his full-on metal leads are really fucking good too >harsh highs Perfect for me, wouldn't change anything about that tone
Also played lead in the last Black Crown Initiate album. And was in The Faceless for a bit for live shows. He has a tendency to hop bands I guess
it basically says your guitar is so well made you don't have to fuck with a single screw
and unironically, the bridge affects tone. it's one of the two things the strings directly touch. the body wood does jack shit but the bridge does a lot for how a string vibrates.
