>artificial intelligence generated mashups >mainly rock and breakbeat >electronic and unpredictable >mainly instrumental >patrician music selection youtu.be/AaY5xs0S3U0 Thanks for listening!
Practicing with the drummer has been going well. Hopefully we'll have some shows by autumn. New track probably this weekend. >blues rock >hard rock >garage rock >punk >sometimes post-hardcore
What do you think I should change about the mixing?
Zachary Reed
Brand new L.P.! officially releasing tomorrow!! but you get to hear it now! BOOoooM ! it's titled "Volume 8.0" a.k.a "MEniverse" ... It will BLOW YOUR MIND!!
Discography: djdubbi.bandcamp.com/ & soundcloud.com/dj-dubbi >Dubstep & Post-Dubstep (because I officially ended the genre with my song "End of Dubstep" in 2014) >Experimental Hybrid Trap >Progressive House >Complextro >Techno Boom _____________________________________________________________________ Remember my advice about your bass... It will 100% make your music good finally..
This isn't complicated enough to be called "Math" rock bro, get your nose back to the grindstone
Learn what indie ACTUALLY means.....
Work on making your hooks more catchy and memorable!
A lot, most just try to make it as treble-heavy as possible.
Dominic Nelson
Wtf... who is this?
Charles Wilson
>me
production values are on 10. Good thinking music.
realy loving your lyrics. Reminds me of music i listened to as a kid. Gave you a like.
love your last track but I wish the bass was higher in the mix.
I felt like your voice was a little high in the mix and drowned the beat out a little bit. Auto tune could use a little bit of work. Your lyrics are on point though.
Julian Phillips
Bro, don't listen to 's advice. He doesn't understand mixing hip hop, which sucks because I like his music, but you mixed the vocals right. Your hooks are what need work.
This could be good if it had a rhythm section to give it flavor.
>Spotify Bro, no offence bro but spotify will destroy your career, or I should say your attempt at one before it even begins. Spotify's whole gameplan is to security steal music from artists and then when that artist disappears they rebrand the music under a new name. Basically like what the industry did with Lady GaGa but now it's spotify doing it and no one knows.
The importance of the vocals in the mix. I know modern "trap rap" has melted vocals quite a lot but in legitimate hip hop the vocals are to be treated as important. Like to give an example, Listen to how these vocals are mixed:
damn this is fuckin groovy. gotta soundcloud or anything?
bretty good, def like the melodic more than the trap
absolutely love it
perfect. driving to the desert right now so i can walk around and listen to this song for hours. maybe stop in and old saloon and drink some whisky with some fellow outlaws. big rec
>The track you recommended Is closer to a song you listen to for the beat than the vocals. Wrong. This is why I'm becoming the big man around here and you're kissing my feet no homo.
Gabriel Perry
Even tho we ignore each other we should colab.. imagine that...........
I fuck with your style of production heavily my guy this shit's right up my alley I like a lot of the samples you used, not that keen on just reversing them in the middle section however both the guitars and voice is on point, quality work user fucking excellent, would prefer if your singing would be a little more toned down or muddier, but it's honestly really fucking good, love the way you round it out too
your production is cool. But is right. Your autotune needs some work.
Sounds great. But all I hear is lows and kinda harsh highs. It could do with some some stuff in the mids.
your stuff’s got potential, but needs some tightening up in the rhythm department. Also the last few notes in your main riff are a bit wonky. But it’s basically all there.
What do you mean? Someone was telling me it's hitting notes that aren't in the song but I don't know how to fix that lol. I get the key of the song and set autotune to that, I don't know enough about the instrumental to add and remove individual notes though.
Jaxon Cruz
Well shit, I don’t know how to fix it either. Maybe find some videos on how auto tune works. I’m
Jason Williams
Get into a legitimate studio with some propper producers (pay thrm if you don't know big time producers personally) They'll help you with the singing/autotune.
Andrew Robinson
If you don't know how to fix it you don't know the problem to begin with. Don't talk shit about music you don't know about.
Daniel Russell
I know enough about music to know when something’s wrong. Plenty of people can’t sing. Doesn’t stop them from noticing and pointing out when other people can’t.
Jaxon Wilson
So you're saying your knowledge is on par with non-musicians. And you expect people to bow down to your horrible advice? fuck off dubby. You're not this "big industry guy" you pretend to be.
Logan Hughes
>soundcloud.com/terror_avenue26 good shit! love the chord progressions! everything fits together pretty well and your mixing is decent af. i love the 80s synth pop aesthetic you got going, a lot of people try it, but not too many people get it right
>soundcloud.com/ladybugstunes the drum work and sound design is pretty good. everything sounds very clean and very experimental, just like the person i commented on above, i dig the vibe, just keep at it! :)
I never said I’m “big industry.” If you think I’m the dubstep guy or whatever I’m not. I’m a different person with the same critique. And all I’m trying to say is that my critique is something anyone would notice.
Mason Barnes
You're 100% dubby. Prove me wrong ass hole.
Isaac Murphy
And how would I do that?
Easton Richardson
Exactly. Shut the fuck up Dubby
Jack Hall
Whatever wankstain.
Dylan Hill
Glad to see yet another thread is being derailed by these people who don't actually like music. I mean "i'm glad" SARCASTICALLY. I don't get the point of coming here and ruining these threads. What could it possibly do to make you guys feel better about your shitty shitty lives. And yes, it's clear that your lives are shitty, if they weren't you wouldn't do this to us here.
DJ Dubbi is an asshole. There's no other way to put it. Every day. Every. Fucking. Day. He comes here and shits on all of our music. We work hard on our craft and all he does is quickly throws a cheesy bass line over a beat. Yet, he has the balls to tell US that our music isn't good. He has the guts to rate our music out of 10? He can't even write a real song that isn't just a rip off of whatever thing is cool, and not done well either. Don't let DJ Dubbi, or any of the trolls here get you down about your craft. DJ fuckface Dubbi is just an autistic faggot who thinks shitting on peoples work is funny. He's not trolling he's just retarded, I fucking hate him, every day he tell me my music is shitty. I've spent half a decade perfecting my craft, and he thinks he can come along and just fuck my career up? Fuck that. Fuck him. We are artists. He isn't. Sorry for the rant.
Nicholas Harris
Exactly. I had absolutely no idea who this “dubby” guy was until today, and then like ten minutes later they say I’m him just because I KINDA agree with him on one fucking point.
Josiah Hughes
I’m the synthwave guy btw. Not that anyone will believe me though.
Bro don't forget to check out my new release!! "Volume 8.0- MEniverse "
REC You'd definitely really like my stuff bro if you'd get off a boring opinion about me.
I am
Tyler Bailey
Yeah his music is actual trash.
He shits on our music saying that Bedroom Pop isn't a good genre, but he makes the most boring edm in the world.
I hate him. I hate his fake-chad "man up bro" attitude. He told me in the last thread that I had a weak father figure when I was a kid, who the fuck says that?
Angel Morris
I'm not dubbi. I guess I can’t really convince you guys but I’m doing a unorthodox way of messing with dubbi really, I’m not dubbi, I don’t post the obnoxious comments and stuff. I was gonna keep running with this but you guys aren’t really catching on, you hate this guy so much you guys have immediately with no question decided that I am this DJ Dubbi character. This makes sense though, as that music that you have made is sacred to you and this guy constantly attacks that, I didn’t realize how much you guys really disliked this guy. I’ve not been on this site for very long but I’m almost 100% sure this DJ Dubbi guy is a troll and not being serious. You all give him way to much power for what he is. Yesterday DJ Dubbi kept saying my post replacing his links with my own was his every time he criticized you guys, either this makes him self aware that he is able to completely put me in a bad spotlight, or he is really that dumb which I doubt. Also if I was dubbi why would it make any sense that my links would get switched up somehow, like I’d have to go into my premade dubbi format and accidentally switch up the two links of separate YouTube videos and soundcloud accounts three times. Stop being so dense. I’m gonna stop posting here and you guys will see that DJ Dubbi will continue to be around till he gets bored, and if he is truly self aware he could use this to his advantage and I guess I kinda screwed myself over with that, I didn’t anticipate you guys we’re gonna think I was dubbi, i thought you guys were gonna get it.
>Hi-Hat Production" "Hi-Hat Engineering" - I lolled. Fantastic bit. The Nick Mullen of generic dubstep promotion.
Seriously the mental image of all those dudes having spent hours in front of the DAW and it's kind of coming together, and you are all like: "It's close... but the hats just aren't banging'".
"We're gonna need a Hi-Hat producer to give this a working over. He's got all the Hi-Hat plugins. Also he works with a Hi-Hat engineer too."
It's like the Spinal Tap of EDM. You have a bright future in comedy.
Dude walks in: "Right mute it all except the hats." "Shut up I'm working here." *turns to Hi-Hat Engineer*
"Sheesh. Amateur hour as per usual"
Hi-Hat Engineer rolls eyes.
"This isn't going to be easy guys, but you've hired the right man for the job. Now roll me a blunt and shut the fuck up. Mans got 'hats to produce."
>indie pop >bedroom pop >electronic >glitch this is v interesting, i like the song jetpack. also very unique album art nice!!!! i would definitely listen to this real good stuff cute!!! wholesome!!!
Throwing the word "Bedroom" infront of your genre isn't some sort of indie tagline. I know you fake musicians THINK it is... but.. it's not. Real guys in the industry laugh all day long at "bedroom" and "lofi" musicians. You think any real musician walks into a studio and tells the production team he's looking for a "bedroom pop" feel? absolutely NOT! If there was a dummy that ever did that they'd be thrown outta there pronto. I know you've never dealt with real industry peeps like me, and you've never even set inside a legitimate studio like I have, so this is just a word of advice to a beginner like you. Grow up and make real music.
Yeah it's God-tier................ What about Volume 8 tho?
Levi Wood
The hi-hats on this album are phenomenal. It's like the dude got a dedicated producer and engineer just to do the hi-hats. Well thats how it sounds to me anyway.
Owen Phillips
I prefer the work of $wagg$tuff and his artful samples on the work of DJ Dubbi, truly a modern da-Vinci of music
This is amateur shit & I’m not gonna worry about mixing or recording until I get a better space to work in
Cooper Hall
>soundcloud.com/bahiamansa/tierra-de-plata Didn't start off too promising, but gets good after the distorted guitar and drums work in. Love the build up and drop off @ 5:20ish, good peaks and valleys. I'm impressed.
>alt rock >folk >country >post rock >ambient >pop >shoegaze >experimental stuff >and many more!!

this is actually pretty good. the sound isn't so terrible compared to what I was expecting, except your voice is too low for me, but that's all. the songs themselves sound good, and I'd like to hear more of you. please keep us updated
