Makeshift Swahili is the best screamo song in a while

Name a more apocalyptic song than A New Kind of Water

>this fucking slaps

I mean, sounds zoomer but ok

That percussive-ass riff and screaming on Paper Hats is just orgasmicly good

It's your typical Bong spork vocals. They're just distorted by the lofi recording and the reverberations of the cum dunge... I mean nuclear bomb shelter they were living out of.

No, he definitely screams on the album. He just doesn't in a lot of the live performances.

I'm so glad someone made a chart like this. I love this fusion of avant-prog and post-punk, but have not been aware of the existence of many of these releases (other than the more well known like The Work or the ones with Fred Frith or Charles Hayward). Thanks for posting this.

I thought the same thing when I saved it. It's like a Rosetta Stone

Remember that time This Heat opened for U2?
Where's The Pop Group?

Not just This Heat, also Einstürzende Neubauten, Mission of Burma, The Fall and a fair share of other artist that no one would expect to open for U2. Though it should be considered that that happened in a time where they were nowhere near as well known as they are today.

I've been trying to figure out the riff to this track for forever. Do any big brain anons here know it?

Neubauten opened for them on the Pop tour, The Fall on the Joshua Tree tour. They were pretty massive by then.
Also, the Pixies, the Sugarcubes and Public Enemy on ZooTV.
IIRC Nirvana and Nine Inch Nails were both also offered opening spots for ZooTV but Reznor chickened out immediately and Cobain considered but ultimately decided against it.

this is modest mouse 15 years before
