If you don't like this album you are either a rock or a jazz novice.
If you hate it you're definitely both.

yes
What if I just don't like fish?
i don't hate it's just kinda a little bit to wierd for my tastes i guess
check em
>what if I just don't like fish?
cringe
Try it again, and again, and again, until it clicks. It's worth it.
The opening track and the vocal-only tracks are the most difficult to get into.
frownland is entry-level what the fuck do you mean?
no it makes other tracks sound plain.
Disliking this album means you have better tastes in jazz and rock than shilled to death babby's first weird album.
>having autism this severe
yikes
>Dickriding TMR this hard
Now thats autism!
>he can't enjoy basic art-blues
Sad!
>basic art blues
Thats sums it up quite nicely. Not everyone likes this shit and nothing of value is lost in doing so.
>If you like this album you are either a rock or a jazz novice.
No disagreement from me
Imagine thinking jazz people would actually like this album.
as if that’s a bad thing, no one cares about ooga booga nigger babble
not OP, but it has the same freedom as free jazz
>no one cares about ooga booga nigger babble
beefheart loved ooga booga nigger babble. His primary inspiration was his favorite ooga booga nigger babble he grew up with.
except free jazz is actually good. TMR is like its aborted try hard pop cousin
>TMR
>pop
um
It was one of the first I liked alongside ones like Moonlight in Vermont, Sweet Sweet Bulbs, Ella Guru.
I don't know about you but adding blues/late 60s rock elements back into free jazz is counter intuitive and certainly has the effect of sounding like watered down jazz.
It's not a jazz album. It's eclectic and borrows from free jazz, but delta blues is clearly the backbone of the song compositions.
>blues
Fuck that's so boring. Imagine basing experimental rock off the blues; lame as fuck.
And in other words, people wouldn't automatically appreciate TMR just because they like jazz. OP is retarded.
it spawned generations of experimental/psychedelic rock beginning in the late 60s early 70s alongside zappa. He said fuck to any rock conventions and did his own thing. Inspiring many others (i.e ween and butthole surfers)
It's not boring though. There's a lot more than just blues going on.
The whole god damn point of free jazz was to just do whatever the fuck you like, ignore any rules and just do what feels right to you in the moment, as raw as can possibly be. Captain did exactly that in his own fashion, and it was a milestone for rock.
only because rock is eclectic cave banging teenage music by default
>bitches brew
>free jazz
Pleb filtered
I've been seeing people post this album since around 2010 when I started using this board and I still haven't listened to even a second of it.
>Extremely entry level experimental music
>Pleb filtered
Lmao
that is not what free jazz was lol. free jazz is akin to free verse poetry a la ezra pound and ts eliot. they still played with conventional theory, they just didn't use conventional form. free jazz is considered "complex" because they switch between a ton of different concepts at any given moment, not "lol random muh feels fuck da rules".
Never heard of this album in my life
>it's good because it's made bad on purpose xD
it's actually a very enjoyable listen, not sure where the "made bad" meme is coming from
