Post an album you think is overrated and people explain to you why it's that good

it was the last Pink Floyd album where it felt like all members were on board, even if in diminishing numbers

The bookends are pleasant ditties, Dogs is a dystopian masterpiece (and Gilmour's crowning achievement), and Wright's mark is all over Sheep

Pigs is also a great meme song...haha charade you are

pic related, I like Smile somewhat but I don't even get Pet Sounds

Peak prog songs, peak prog album, their best sounding with WYWH.

technical revolution, the start of psychedelic rock, it sounds amazing.

Complex arrangements, song structures and chord progressions influenced, masterful vocal harmonies, use of diverse and exotic instruments, all this presented as an accessible pop album with naive but genuine and heart breaking yet hopeful lyrics. Not really my thing, but I can see why people would love this one.

Pet Sounds is just incredibly dense with new ideas, and you can very clearly tell that Brian was in the midst of a watershed moment in the way that he approached songwriting and composition.
I love how "I Just Wasn't Made for These Times" goes through a progression in its three-bar chorus where another vocal track is layered on top with each new bar, and you might not even notice it until after multiple listens. The album is littered with moments like these. There was so much genuine thought put into every track that it's great to just marvel at.

songwriting is really good in parts
dogs makes me cry... not really im not a basedboy, but you know what i mean

You have to keep in mind that this album was released in 66. If you take a look at the albums released that year and before you'll notice that nothing sound like it.
Tomorrow Never Knows for example was the first song recorded for Revolver, it was recorded in April. No one was making songs like that in April of 66. Revolver is a revolutionary album

Tape manipulation like that had been done by beat artists since the 50s, but I see your point.

One of the greatest achievements in music since The Wall. The merging of low and high art. The combination of Movie and Rap structures struck a chord with me

Yikes

It has such a dreamlike quality to it's sound that it feels like it's playing in your subconscious. Untrue by Burial is another album that has the same effect for me.
