You shouldn’t have to try to “get into” bands. If you don’t like the first three or so songs, ya don’t like the band. Easy as that.
Sonic Youth. I've listened to their entire discography and I find 90% of their work boring. The stuff I do like is pretty godlike in my eyes, wish they were more consistent.
This is how you miss out on incredible music. Force yourself to listen to the all greats, for the sake of your own happiness.

To the modern ears velvet just sound plain, and its not bad, because the reason of that is how influential they were, but every time i listen the banana album is just boring, compared for example to the doors and even captain beefheart.
I completely disagree. It's like hearing essential pop and punk tropes in the 80s and 90s being delivered by a 60s garage rock band. Truly nothing can compare.
