I have unironically been listening to exclusively Nirvana for the past 3 months. They don't have a single bad song. All their albums are unique and have their own flavor and there is so much variety in their music. It takes a few tries to appreciate Bleach and Incesticide but they're amazing too, along with the live albums especially Live At Reading.
I seriously think they are the greatest band ever. I've tried listening to stuff like Alice in Chains or Soundgarden or Pearl Jam and they just don't scratch that same itch. They're 6 or 7s compared to Nirvana which is an 11/10
Never understood why people shat on Nirvana, did they only listen to Teen Spirit?
Nirvana is the perfect band

This was basically me for a whole year.
Back when I was 10 years old.
I remember being 15...
I'm 21 and don't get why people say Nirvana is "immature". Its fucking rock music do you think Prince William listens to The Pixies or Black Sabbath or The Rolling Stones? Its all "immature"
>doesn't mention Screaming Trees
>do you think Prince William listens to The Pixies or Black Sabbath or The Rolling Stones?
I think he listens to none of those, and rightfully so.
THE CASSETTE PLAYED POPTONES
Well if you dislike rock music that's fine
I can appreciate classical and Nirvana
Bleach made its way back in to my regular rotation last year at the age of 29. It's an unironically brilliant, raw and original LP. I even bought the remaster on vinyl.
I like rock music, and I like classical. I don't know what you're trying to get at here.
courtney love had kurt cobain killed
Yeah Bleach was hard for me to get into. I tried listening to it and thought "why the fuck do people like this? i don't get it"
After a few listens it clicked and I love songs like Scoff and Swap Meet and Mr Moustache
because almost all nirvana listeners got into them while they were teenagers
without while they
This is an 18+ board
Isnt that how it goes for 90% of your music though, doesn't mean the music's bad. Shit I got into the Beatles when I was 10, doesn't mean sgt pepper sucks
He was born in 1982 so was a teen in the mid-90s, so probably listens to Blur and Oasis
Dunno. I got into music when i was 15 and most of the bands i listened too in the beginning are cringy as fuck to me now.
Nirvana is among these aswell.
If you kids are getting into Nirvana you should check out Alice in Chains as well they're one of the OGs of grunge and almost every song on every 90s album is good

Imagine being a grown ass person who unironically thinks Nirvana is the greatest band of all time. Cobain couldn't make it to 30, let alone make a good song. The Foo Fighters are better than Nirvana.
underage b&
i'm 30 now and still don't find nirvana cringe. probably because kurt cobain actually killed himself so it clearly wasn't a complete facade
I love Nirvana. I think despite how much they're shit on in this board they are 100% one of the greatest bands ever. All had to do with Kurt, because the music itself was not anything revolutionary. Kurt was just an interesting person and he put on a great show. They definitely did have some bad songs though, I would say they're in the top 10 mainstream groups of all time for sure
Chains' 90's and Soundgarden's 80
s/90's stuff (outside Down on the Upside) is infinitely better
yep this was literally me at 13
15? Fuck I was into music by the time I was 5 lmao
it isn't immature music, but it's usually a lot of people's introduction into alternative rock so they discover it at a young age and branch out from nevermind
>I can go from Slipknot to Frank Sinatra to Killswitch Engage in a minute, dude
>15
What did you do before that? Sports? Video games?
Nirvana were ahead of their time culturally and sonically, even among their own peers. They embodied all the tropes of all the cutting edge underground and mainstream rock bands that came before them and created the pop rock formula that so many bands that came after them completely misunderstood.
These guys and Smashing Pumpkins were the best rock bands the 90s had to offer
