How do I stop having such a shitty. Basic taste? How do I rise up my attention to get through albums smoother?
How do I stop having such a shitty. Basic taste? How do I rise up my attention to get through albums smoother?
bruh i don't care just listen to what you like
you like anime OPs and nightcore? very cool. keep it up. hope we can be good friends one day.
stop being a retarded weeb
I think, I mostly like Industrial Rock/Industrial Metal/Alt.Metal/Alt Rock. I guess I'd like to have an "out there" taste to make up for a shallow personality/life, as I don't know why I care so much
what i do is i play an album when doing some task that takes brainwork, (vidya, reading ,studying etc.) then some time later i listen to it while driving and thats when it usually clicks. for me driving keeps me from beign bored and I can pay ful attention to the music
>How do I rise up my attention
Can someone translate, please?
Sure. It means “I’m a mentally retarded ES third worlder who should be exterminated like the cockroach I am”.
you guys always give yourselves so much shit for 'having no personality.' if you just said the shit that's on your mind, instead of hating yourself because everything you say isn't pure golden wit, you'd probably realize that you're no worse than anyone else.
also the genres you listed have tons of artists to listen to. just go deeper into the stuff you already like if it matters to you that much.
Improve my attention span. Sometimes I stop paying attention without realizing, I get distracted incredibly easily
literally listen to more music. the more music you listen to and actually take in, the better your taste will become. if you need a starting point, then post your chart and we can give recs
Everyone your age does. Your generation is fucked.
most people do these days, we live in hyper-stimulated times. i can barely even read books anymore.
mindfulness meditation has been shown in multiple studies to help significantly improve concentration and attention span
Yeah, but that will turn you into a communist.
>if you need a starting point, then post your chart and we can give recs
I think this nicely sumps it up, more or less
Yeah, I tend to digest albums the best in a bus or so.
I feel usually guilty listening to new albums while not giving it full attention personally
>Faith No More
Just go through bands Mike Patton is/was in. Lot of material there.
Literally just explore more in general. Lurk on here and listen to albums people rec or steal someone’s chart and listen to those albums.
I did hear Mr Bungle, at least the self titled, I do have California on my list
I do lurk a lot and also go through charts and also use RYM. Lastfm also can be useful
This is the best way desu. Checking out side projects and other bands members were in is a good way to find new music and you get to learn more about the history of the band. Finding a producer you like is another good way.
There's literally nothing wrong with your taste lol
I'd recc
Brian Eno - Another Green World
Elza Soares - Deus é Mulher
Christian Death - Only Theatre of Pain
Couch Slut - Contempt
I wouldn't call Industrial Rock/Metal basic taste
Music will never be a replacement for being able to relate to other people. Having a unique opinion/taste in music might be a way to break the ice with someone, to get a conversation started, but it won't sustain it. No one wants to talk about music ALL the time.
Put yourself out there, don't be afraid to speak your mind, your unique perspective. Live within the moment, not the past or the future.
Thank you for recs, I actually have that Eno album on my hard drive but everything else kept distracting me from it
Well, I assumed it was, by mu-standards at least.
Same shit here (except the music taste, which is more basic and Yea Forumscore)
I think I'll try reading/meditation to improve the attention span
I wish I could just sit down and listen to music
And besides that I guess I'll listen to random stuff I find here and elsewhere
But anons are right, I hardly think having a "patrician" music taste will help much with insecurity. But there's not much I can do about this either. At least listening to music is something good, right?
mu standards are dropping like bombs. There are people unironically into pop stars and shit rappers here
