Is Quorthon one of the most respected people in metal? I rarely if ever see anyone talk shit about him.

Because he has genuine unquestionable talent unlike most metal musicians. It's not easy to influence one genre, make one of your own and then modify your sound over the years to perfect it so that pretty much every album henceforth in that genre is a staple of it. Plus, he seems like a wholesome guy when he's not making music.

I know he died like 15 years ago. I still can't believe we'll never have a finish Nordland Saga from him. At least he died on a high note tbqh. It's better to die from a congenital heart defect after relatively sober and happy life than what most musicians die from.
