I know of this band, being latin american myself, but always thought it was generic pop rock. Seems this album was the result of the band being experimental after making a very popular album

Damn shame it was rejected and it seems to be an obscure album in their career. Spic music is still conservative and derivative many decades later. A band like Sweet Trip (the frontman is Panamanian) wouldn't have lasted here at all.
