Its actually pretty good but it doesn't come with a case or anything, only comes in a cardboard box. The pickups are quite nasally sounding. I would probably just buy a Strat, it'll do just as much for you for 95% of the music you'll ever play.

Its part of the reason you should transition to playing Authentic. No but seriously, vast majority of Fender models have a narrow neck taper and are not as wide as other guitars. They also have a rounder radius which adds to it. The only Fender I have played that isn't like this is the American Pro models which have a wider taper and nut width so you don't pull the strings off the side as easily and its the only Fender I have played that I would actually buy.

the difference you're hearing is the low-output pickups they normally use

I like the American Pro, its more in like a Gibson neck. Decently thick shape and the taper and nut width is almost identical to Gibson. The heel thing never bothered me too much, but I got big hands so could be why. Nickel frets vary though, it depends on the quality of the alloy. Gibson uses really hard nickel compared to Epiphone and other stuff, they take a very long time to wear down. You can also dress frets multiple times. I personally don't like SS, you can get better fretwire like Jescar gold. Just my opinion.

I think you could, however i would check out what people are buying and it's reviews for how the neck and neck pocket fits. Frets should be easy to fix.

With ibanez moving up in price mostly just means better hardware, the body styles, necks, headstocks etc will have similar dimensions, an RG is an RG. What you're paying for it pickups, bridge, tuning heads, and wiring.
