How long did it take y'all to learn songs?

I've been practicing since late May, I can do the basic A, E, D, C, Am, Em chords, smoke on the water riff on the E string, 7 nation army on the A string, and that's it. The only chord changes I can really do are A to E and A to D. Is this normal progress or am I not progressing fast enough?

Learn the notes/scales on the fretboard for soloing, pay attention to what your right hand is doing(rhythm) biggest part imo.

The thing is you need to change chords seamlessly when you sing otherwise the song will sound like shit. It will force you into making the changes quickly and eventually it will become second nature.

Not really. I learned songs I disliked just so that I don't limit my technique. The best thing to do is just turn on the radio, and learn every song that comes on.

Depends on the tune. If you know your wheel of 5ths, then it should either be easy for you, or this is how you learn chord progressions in action.

They often will flat out return a lot of guitars because of minor imperfections, and 40$ for a setup along with their autistic tier inspections, I'd say he goes through with it because it's highly likely it won't need any serious work outside of maybe some pickup replacements.

The list of things you can do with a trem that you can't do without one is a short one. Hardtail playing is harder but ultimately more expressive and incompatible with trems because double stops will bend themselves out of tune.

For the most part you can play any style on any guitar. Rick Beato swears by the Telecaster as the "guitar to have if you can only have one guitar" but I've never played one myself and I don't know if they come with whammy bars.
