looking for some feedback mainly with the mixing on this, i'm just learning how to master tracks properly and i'm trying to get it right so that the master sounds good with this. other feedback welcome too tho

the main thing i noticed with this is that it feels pretty bare, like just the guitar chords strumming along with a trap beat doesn't feel very satisfying to me. i'd say maybe beef up the guitar a bit or add some bass, but the idea is interesting
really really pretty and well recorded. if you're planning on turning it into a full track, i'd say keep it subtle with the additions, like maybe a nice dreamy pad to fill out the sound later and give it a proper climax.
absolute quality, gorgeous track. i love the little rhythmic switch up at around 5:20. if you told me this was rob or sean's secret account i would honestly believe it haha

this sounds good overall. I think the mix would improve from utilizing the stereo-space better. using hard pans, and occasional rhythmic noises can make things more interesting.i noticed how it grows bigger as the song progresses though, and I really like that.

i can't help but feel this song could be expanded a lot though. it currently sounds sorta empty, and the sounds doesn't really support that. a more lonesome, solace, sound can emerge if the mix is empty enough - but it doesn't really seem like that is what's going on here. adding more samplers, or pads, can help expanding on the sound. in this case though, i think more rythmic elements (melodic or otherwise) could enhance the parts with percussion to create greater dynamics.

i think the sounds are all enjoyable, but as far as textures goes the song is somewhat flat. it's textured, but they're not particularly flavorful or interesting to me. this is hard w/o great gear though.

i think all electronic music needs to embrace the idea that sound carries inherent feelings, and that we can find and combine those sounds to make soundscapes that move us.

all of this being said, i'm really impressed with how this sounds and this is quite different from anything i've ever made, so take my words with a grain of salt.

i'm here you're right, comfy sounds! i can't help but think the vocal sits awkwardly here though. it sounds like it's a bit confused about what it's supposed to be? firstly i think it could sonically go one of two ways - either I'd sing in a more hushed way to complement the atmosphere, and then keep it's tone as flat as now (á la phil elverum). otherwise i'd slap it with reverb, make it sound huge (á la galaxie 500).

i also think the vocal could be improved melodically. i'm not sure about how you do it, but writing vocal melodies on a guitar or keys has helped me with this.

currently i also find the song somewhat meandering. this can definitely be an aesthetic (and it does work for you), but having an intensity that ebbs and flows and potentially climaxes would help improve this song. it's likely you're already into them, but mojave 3 are really good at this, which is something you could take inspiration from.

I like the melodies in a lot of these. Maybe could go for some slightly more modernized sounds for a few of the tracks. Still cool though.

thank you for this comment! i agree wholeheartedly with what you said about sound carrying inherent feelings, timbre and sound design are so important, especially when you get to more abstract forms of electronic music. i immediately think of jan jelinek and how evocative his music is largely because of his unique approach to sound design.

you're right about my track needing to be expanded, this isn't the final draft but i'm getting closer to that, maybe adding an extra section at the end. as far as the textures falling flat, do you have any specific recommendations as to how i could fix this? perhaps better eq?

as far as your track goes, it's impressive for being your first techno track. it definitely falls in line with the more atmospheric side of the genre, so it didn't make me want to dance or anything but the textures are really awesome. all the burbling synths that float underneath make it feel organic and alive.

This compilation is a small step towards supporting the people that have experienced violence, electric shock, psychological abuse for standing to their views.
