while i think as a record, this is an overall better project. I still think coloring book has merit as a strong point in modern rap.

Not a big chance fan, but I like coloring book better desu

Chance The Rapper thought he was being some amazing trailblazer by releasing his albums only on soundcloud in streaming 128k mp3. Not signing a major label contract was smart. But giving his shit away for free and not monetizing it on streaming platforms was fucking dumb. It limited his visibility. He was content to eat off that feature and tour money. But he stopped being a part of the conversation at some point. That's why the shit is going up on those platforms now.

Hold the mic like it’s a dick

u managed to type 26 words and say nothing

He stopped trying to be rapper

Acid Rap is WAY better than this

10 Day I mean

He stopped doing Drugs

Something about Chance the Rapper just freaks me out and I don’t know what it is. it’s as if all his traits individually make sense but put together they don’t all fit on one person, and I know one part is of him is fake but I don’t know which.

The I give a shit about my city and just want to help people part.

I'm glad everyone is done pretending coloring book was good

>this is how rap fans talk about music

agreed. i couldnt get into colouring book at all. a few songs i thought were ok. should prob give it another listen but i dont know if i give enough of a fuck

What did he mean by this?

I really liked some songs on Coloring book like no problem and angels, but I couldn’t find myself enjoying the overtly religious songs. I couldn’t deal. They were well made, but they’re just not for me.

>But giving his shit away for free and not monetizing it on streaming platforms was fucking dumb
Probably because it was a mixtape with numerous uncleared samples that could get him sued you retard

He went too mainstream. He embraced the religious shit and tried to have mass appeal with the features and production on Coloring Book. Nothing will ever live up to Acid Rap cause Chance left the Acid behind and became a gospel rapper.

His verse on Ultralight Beam is god level tho.

>implying it would be impossible to clear them
>which obviously isn't the case since the music is going up now

Coloring book was pure ass

Ultralight beam is what made him go gospel because it's also a corny af "gospel rap" song that basic art hoes love

It’s going up now cause he’s fucking loaded and was able to pay everyone to clear everything, he didn’t have this much money pre-Coloring Book

He was fucking loaded in 2016 though. Too little too late.

the only good chance project is 10 day. he started becoming a pseud on acid rap, and he fully lost himself up his own asshole on coloring book. remember that brief gospel wave that a few rappers were jumping on in 2016? weird times
