Metallica is a band I like them very much, discovered in my youth related to their songs and what they preached, even though Load/Reload sucks they're just a band for me. Musically impressive, melodically sensible, epic but angry, just enough finesse but still a street feeling approach different from what I was used to in 80's metal at the time. Pretty much a one two punch of albums that was my introduction, Ride The Lightning and Master Of Puppets, these are albums I listen to regularly 20 years later.
I had a friend who was a few years older than me, nice guy but slightly stuck in remembrance of the 90s alternative era which had an impact on him. He was a big Nirvana fan and he hated Metallica, we would combat each other quite a bit about which band was better. While my debates were usually more musically inclined, his were more emotional, making points such as "Metallica is just meatheads music and Nirvana is deep" which always seemed asinine to me.
saw then in Slane, Ireland a couple of weeks ago. Incredible.
Jaxon Diaz
My fave album is probably Justice desu
Juan Morgan
Fuck these faggots and all the faggots who listen to them. If you haven't outgrown Metallica by the age of 14, you are low IQ.
Henry Rivera
based cringe
Christian Cruz
Reload best album thx
Ryan Martin
>Metallica is just meathead music that isn’t even true either when a lot of their lyrics especially on AJFA are surprisingly intellectual and political (also you need a 200+ IQ to understand Lulu)
Zachary Foster
>Let's make a few good riffs then string these few good riffs into 8 minutes of a wankfest song, oh also we have this hack for a lead guitarist let's give him 64 bars or so to play basic diatonic runs up and down or pentatonic licks with wah pedal abuse once a song
>chaning music taste This is the kind of embarrassing fool who ends up 30 years old and listening to artists younger than him geared for teens like Lil Xanadu and Billy Eyelash, cringe city.
Julian Nguyen
Lulu is fucking shit Also this
Jaxson Peterson
Rust In Peace is the most overrated metal album of all time
Brayden Harris
And yet it's still the best thrash metal album ever made
Logan Sullivan
THAT`S DEBATABLE. what about reign in blood faget Or Bonded by Blood
Jonathan Evans
Reign in Blood is great if you like 0 variety in your metal, it really fucking overstays its welcome by Postmortem and then Rain in Blood picks it up and actually fucking varies the riffs a little
Christian Harris
Also forgot to mention that while they serve their purpose the solos on that album can't fucking hang anywhere near what Marty writes on Hangar 18 let alone every other song on the album
Nathan Rivera
Are you a time traveler from 1988?
Lincoln Nelson
Hello Dave.
Elijah Ramirez
>most overrated metal album of all time That's Reign in Blood, dingus
Aaron Rogers
>still caring about music at 30
ultimate cringe
Gabriel Turner
Bout to lay down some Metallica truths in this bitch >Justice is great but it's a fucking mess of an album and therefore not as good as RTL or MoP >St. Anger and Lulu are objectively trash >Load is better than Reload and The Black Album provided you're not a metal purist incel who can't enjoy bluesy southern rock >Death Magnetic is their most underrated album, Hardwired is just a shittier version of it with slightly better production >Lars sucking doesn't gimp the band in any real way >James is the best rhythm guitarist in the Big 4 and the Hetfield/Ulrich songwriting duo is unmatched (Megafag here, by the way)
Zachary Sanchez
Used to be a fan, liked them up until I heard St. Anger then I got rid of all their albums and stopped caring about them. Still listen to a track or two from their earlier shit once in a while but I wouldn't rebuy their stuff or see them live youtube.com/watch?v=KO3l6qNA2Q4
Parker Thompson
This band taught me guitar. Their badass riffs and solos gave me something to aspire towards and gave me a reason to want to learn to shred both guitar and bass. Nobody did it has done it like they did when they had cliff. Sad how garbage the new stuff is but we will always have those first 7 albums to marvel upon
Jason Howard
Truer words haven’t been spoken.
Grayson Morris
Black Album ‘tallica was the most Chad band ever literally and figuratively.
Metallica taught me guitar, but Necrophagist taught me to take learning and practicing seriously youtube.com/watch?v=IYnuXnuaFNY Mind that solo
Nolan Hall
Nothing Else Matters is the cuckiest metal song ever written though
Brandon Thompson
Peace sells is better than Rust in pizza
Carson Green
You can think that, but that’s literally when James stopped being a virgin incel.
Connor Bell
smooth sweeping for sure. I need to work on my sweep technique. The 'ride the lightning' solo was a big game changer for me. I made such huge gains learning that solo
Landon Phillips
>overstays its welcome on the penultimate track >last track is excellent THE ENTIRE ALBUM IS ONLY 29 MINUTES
Matthew Green
and 20 minutes of 00000000000000001310000000000 is still too much
Dominic Miller
Meet the real Dave.
Jordan Nelson
Countdown to Extinction was my shit when I was a teenager
>holy wars >hangar 18 >five magics >poison was the cure >tornado of souls these are great, everything else is boring filler, like every megadeth album after it. Boring, formulaic thrash metal
>not listening to the music of your youth during workouts Never gonna make it
Jayden Sullivan
Ride The Lighting > Kill 'em All > Master Of Puppets
Jeremiah Phillips
...
Kayden Garcia
NEcroBUmp
Cameron Allen
st. anger would be unironically good if the songs weren't so long and the lyrics werent horrible, it shouldve been written like a punk album since thats what it felt like
Robert Flores
i unironically love the song st. anger and listen to it almost daily.
dont' @ me
Christopher Perry
It would be good if shorter, normal snare, better vocals by james, and none of that fucking "flush it out"
Jace Ross
It is a rock ballad, nothing about it is metal.
Adam Smith
Based and Davepilled
Wyatt Allen
so 75% of the album is great?
Jackson Davis
I hate how good of a riff Orion has for how boring the song is
Jeremiah Barnes
Same, where were you?
Austin Lewis
>battery and master of puppets God tier songs 10/10 > the thing that should not be Utter fucking trash 0/10 >welcome home ok song, nothing remarkable 5/10 >disposable heros great song 8/10 >leper messiah another boring track 3.5/10 >Orion Good song 7/10 >damage inc Another boring song 4/10
This album is overrated
Brandon Garcia
The whole album is great because he's retarded enough to think Take No Prisoners is filler as well
Literally the only bad song on RIP is Dawn Patrol and even that serves its purpose as a quick breather very well
