1 sexy Eno track
1. Kino style arrangment but not enough confindene to be all edgy and sing about dark shit.

Wanna do some Slint type stuff but can't play real guitar so now looking for samples or something.

Albums are done. What are you working on a project for school? Did the teacher say it had to be in a plastic folder with cover art?

I finished it a year ago and have lost all motivation to promote it or record any new material. very uninspired

Literally just finished mine, is it okay if I shill. I know it’s not good

please, shill to your heart's content

I can't write a good song to save my life.

I’ve come up with two and a half amazing tracks and I feel like I’m gonna run out of good ideas for the album really quick

bump

maybe once a month i'll invite people to my place to jam. i'll set up microphones and everyone takes an instrument (they don't even necessarily need to know how to play it) and then i'll record us for like 3 hours. i'll then spend about a week or two cutting and mixing that into tracks and then arranging it into an album.

it's fun because if you don't know how to play anything i'll put you on the bongos or the tambourine or the shaker or maybe the synth and you can just go crazy. i've also had people that play the violin and the accordion and shit so it was cool that a project that started just recording one or two instruments at once has ballooned into me having to arrange mics to record a small orchestra.

so far, i have done 4 albums in this manner. soon it'll be time to get everybody together again.

imade and it s finish

Sounds sweet. Do post.

here's an example from last time's jam. very simple set up: electric, acoustic, synth and bongos.

it was recorded at my friend's house and he has shitty electricity and i think that messed with one of the mics and caused those weird popping sounds (but hey you can pretend they're epic vintage vinyl noise)

I've got like hundred of unfinished melody lines that I have no idea what to do with and maybe like 15 somewhat finished songs. What to do?

very spacey and trippy. sounds like a great concept desu.

Started recording the first song with a friend. I want to work on it more than he does, but I can't play the songs I'm writing. They aren't super difficult, I just suck on a guitar.

First track is about half recorded. Still needs drums and vocals.

About 4 other half-written songs.

Trying to create an album. I'm gonna be investing in a new USB cable for my PC this weekend as the one I got from my local mom n pop store is literally dogshit and is giving me a really obnoxious hum whether or not it is plugged into a DI box.

Hopefully if I can take the means of production back from my friend, it will move along a little faster.

Either find someone who plays an instrument and get them to record the melody so you can build off of it, or do what I just said yourself.

It is 100% easier said than done.

Im this guy:

convert the unfinished melodies into midi and then use probabilistic sequencing.

I'm working on an alternative folk album that deals with some personal things I've been going through when I moved away from my hometown and basically cut off my family from my life.

It's about 90% written, 40-50% recorded. I'm hoping to finish it by September.

Please share thoughts, if you like or hate it, I could use some honest feedback. This is the song I'm probably most proud of so far.

thanks! it's just a cute passion project. everybody i rope into it seems pretty skeptical until i show them the final product. the new album that i havent finished is the one that includes a violin and an accordion (the tricky thing was mixing the accordion) and it's still spacey but because those two are trained musicians (as opposed to most of the people that participate in the jams) the music was a lot more structured and less repetitive.

i like the idea that the albums will get more and more complex. my goal right now is to go to the beach and to record on the shore next to the water a bunch of acoustic folk instruments.

Not bad lately. I'm writing a rock opera /prog metal concept album and have the storyline mostly fleshed out. It's about a man in ancient Egypt who has died and his soul is stuck in limbo, he must relive his past sins via scenes (which make up the songs of the album) before his soul can pass onto the afterlife.

The tracklist is, tentatively:

I. Overture (orchestra, piano)
II. Burning Prophecy (sort of neoclassical with blast beats and chill jams)
III. Embrace the Blade (straight brutal Arabian metal)
IV. City in Blue (jazz piano)
V. Digital weapon (banger)
VI. Broken Chains (sort of Broadway meets metal)
VII. Poison kisses (post hardcore + pink Floyd ish song)
VII. Nocturne in Db (solo piano)
VIII. In the Halls of King Teti (random thrashy prog with a blues + beebop ending)
IX. Live Once, Die Twice (Arabian metal)
X. Of Gods and Slaves (long epic prog piece with acoustic bits and reprises, orchestral ending

learn how to play guitar user, don't half-ass your dream.

I tried my best

Terrible I'm gonna kill myself

i have any drums and i dont know how to replace that :c

I'd guess about 80 percent of me accepted in have no lyrical, rhythmic, musical, it artistic style.

That 20 percent is keeping me from being content. The fucker.
It does it with everything to. Not just aspirations in music. You can't reason with it. Sometimes it's stronger or weaker but it doesn't go away.

What the fuck those digits
