There's a ton of prog music that's better than Genesis; they just happen to be instrumentals and not, songs. This thread does suddenly make me realize and appreciate how difficult it must be to make a side long epic with vocals. There also seems to be a correlation between the most well known prog bands and having more lyrical input which is to be expected.
